Abstract:
In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, a fluid dispensing device includes a housing having a wall defining an interior compartment, the wall having an opening passing there through, and an exit port located therein or thereon, and a replaceable cartridge dispenser assembly disposed within the interior compartment. The replaceable cartridge dispenser assembly includes a fluid reservoir containing a fluid and a metered dispensing pump integrally formed with the fluid reservoir, the metered dispensing pump in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir and with the exit port of the housing and including a button, actuation of which causes metered dispensing of the fluid within the fluid reservoir to the exit port. The button is accessible through the opening in the wall of the housing, and the cartridge assembly, including the fluid reservoir and the metered dispensing pump, is replaceable as a unit such that the housing is reusable.
Abstract:
A liquid dispensing device includes a storage container having an opening and dome pump assembly attached thereto substantially over the opening for metered dispensing. The dome pump assembly is integrally formed with a dome button, top portion extension and valve to facilitate manufacture and reduce costs of the pump while improving performance thereof. The valve is employed to pull liquid from the storage container into the dome for metering. An exit passageway formed from the extension and container wall serves as an output valve. The user squeezes the dome and the opposite side of the container pouch concurrently to seal the flapper valve to urge liquid out through the exit passageway for actual dispensing.
Abstract:
A fluid dispensing device includes a container made from a flexible material defining an interior fluid storage region, a flexible metering housing having a metering chamber in fluid communication with the fluid storage region, the flexible metering housing having a button heat sealed to a base plate, a unidirectional intake valve disposed between the container and the flexible metering housing and a unidirectional output valve in fluid communication with the flexible metering housing. The base plate has an extension with a recessed notch, a first tapered portion, and a second tapered portion opposite the first tapered portion with respect to the recessed notch, and the button has an extension and a notch corresponding to the extension and the recessed notch of the base plate.
Abstract:
A fluid dispensing device has a container made from a flexible material defining an interior fluid storage region and a flexible metering housing having a metering chamber in fluid communication with the fluid storage region, the flexible metering housing having a button heat sealed to a base plate. A unidirectional intake valve is disposed between the container and the flexible metering housing. A unidirectional output valve is in fluid communication with the flexible metering housing. The button has a stepped flange towards an outer edge of said circular shape and the base plate has a stepped flange corresponding to the stepped flange of the button.
Abstract:
A snap closure for a container includes an annular snap bead in a skirt portion. A top portion extends upwardly from the skirt portion, the top portion having horizontal slits. When the snap closure is engaged with a container, the snap beads snap onto a mating locking ring of the container. An upwards force is applied to the snap closure to disengage the closure from the container. The horizontal slits enable the top portion to flex axially to provide additional rotational leverage for disengaging the snap beads from the annular locking ring.
Abstract:
An article of manufacture that has at least three layers of sealable material. There is at least one first seal between at least two of the layers in a first area having a first sealing affinity effected at a first sealing parameter. There is also at least one second seal between at least two more layers, where at least one of these two layers is distinct from the at least two layers joined by the first seal, in a second area having a second sealing affinity effected at a second sealing parameter, where the second sealing parameter is different than the first sealing parameter, thereby allowing for sealing of discrete areas of the article in discrete steps.
Abstract:
An inflatable device for people to sit, lie or sleep on is provided, which device allows water vapor produced by the person's perspiration or condensation to escape from the vicinity of his/her body, which device can be readily manufactured without undue amounts of human labor, which device is suitable for disposable use, and which device is of such a construction that in the event that there is a rupture or loss of pressure the entire device will not collapse.
Abstract:
The present invention is a fluid dispensing device (10) that includes a reusable outer housing (12) that defines a bladder-receiving region. An independently deformable bladder (14), that contains media (16) to be dispensed therein, resides in the bladder-receiving region. A pump (18), which is accessible from the outside of the housing (12) by a user, is installed in fluid communication with the bladder (14) to dispense media (16) from the bladder (14) for use. When media (16) is depleted from the bladder (14), the bladder (14) and pump (18) arrangement can be easily replaced with a full bladder (14) and new pump (18) for installation into the reusable outer housing (12).
Abstract:
The stand-up fluid dispensing device (10, 100) includes a container (42) with an outer surface, opening, interior fluid storage region (44) therein and an exterior outer region. A support structure (60) is affixed to the container (42) to maintain the container (42) in an upright condition at all times. Throughout the life of the product and regardless of amount of media (12) in the device (10, 100), it will remain standing upright to better display the package at all times. The support structure (60) is preferably a jacket filled with a gas, such as air. The jacket (60) can include a plurality of pockets (62), such as tubes filled with air. The stand- up fluid dispensing device (10, 100) may also include a metering pump (64) that can include a leakage control mechanism to control the dispensing of media (12) from the device (10, 100).
Abstract:
A hanging liquid dispenser 10 is provided that includes a pump and valving 26 for delivering the fluid material 22 when the dispenser 10 is operated by the user in a controlled fashion. The hanging dispenser 10 includes a main body that serves as a fluid reservoir 22 and has an eyelet 23 formed therein which is suitable for use in hanging the dispenser 10 from a suitable support. In addition to including the ability to hang, the dispenser 10 preferably includes a pump 26 for metered dosing of the fluid 24 within the dispenser 22 wherein operation of the pump 26 delivers a controlled volume of the fluid 24 as desired by the user.
