Abstract: There is provided amethod of driving a display of active matrix-type. The matrix 100 includes addressable pixels associated with lines L -L M and columns of the matrix. The method comprises writing image data to the matrix utilizing a line timing LT determined by a preselected base frame rate BR and the number of lines M of the matrix, determining an extended frame rate N-frame for addressing all pixels of the matrix, and providing a preselected intermittent refresh IR by distributing the writing of image data to all pixels within a time period defined by the extended frame rate N-frame.
