Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for marine deployment according to various aspects of the present invention may operate in conjunction with a floatable housing adapted to be deployed by a marine vehicle. The floatable housing may be adapted to be launched from a marine vehicle and rise to the surface. Assets, such as an unmanned aerial vehicle, may be deployed from the surfaced floatable housing.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a submersible transport and launch canister (10) are provided for use by a diver in the deployment of an airborne object (12). In one embodiment, the submersible transport and launch canister (10) includes a pressure vessel (14) having an open end portion (16) and a storage cavity (20) configured to receive the airborne object (12) therein. A diver-actuated cap (22) is movable between an open position and a closed position in which the diver-actuated cap (22) sealingly engages the open end portion (16). A propellant device (66) is fluidly coupled to the storage cavity (20) and is configured to propel the airborne object (12) from the storage cavity (20) and through the open end portion (16) when the propellant device (66) is actuated by the diver.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a method for deploying an airborne object are provided utilizing a submersible transport and launch canister (10) of the type that includes a pressure vessel (14) in which the airborne object is stored and a cap (22) which sealingly engages the pressure vessel (14). In one embodiment, the method includes the steps of positioning an end portion (16) of the pressure vessel (14) above the surface level (36) of a body of water, opening the cap (22), and launching the airborne object from the pressure vessel (14) while in the body of water.
