摘要: Removable cab components and a removable cab assembly for a vehicle. A durable cab assembly is provided, which generally includes a roof, a windshield and a rear panel that is removably attachable to the vehicle. In certain embodiments, the roof, windshield and rear panel are separate components, each separately removably attachable to the vehicle. In certain embodiments, each component of the cab assembly is removably attachable to the roll cage of the vehicle without comprising the integrity of the roll cage. The attachment and detachment of the cab assembly can be carried out manually, by a single person, in a short period of time, without requiring separate tools. The invention is also directed to the windshield, roof and rear panel as individual components adapted for quick attachment /detachment to a vehicle, and a method of attaching or detaching cab components or a cab assembly.

摘要: A method of reading data represented by characters formed of an x by y array of dots, e.g. as printed by a dot-matrix printer, is described. An image of the character(s) is captured by a digital camera device and transmitted to a computer, and by using analysis software operating in the computer to which the camera image has been sent, dot shapes are identified and their positions within the captured image detected, using the similarity of dots to idealised representations of dots using a combination of covariance, correlation or colour data. The position information about the detected dots is then processed to determine the distance between dots and to identify "clusters" of adjacent dots in groups of dots close to one another, and to enable such clusters to be mapped on to a notional x by y grid that defines the intended positions of the dots where grid elements intersect. The image is then analysed to determine, for each intersection of the grid, whether a dot is present or not, and starting at one corner of the x by y grid, a binary number is generated corresponding to the presence or absence of a dot at each intersection. This binary number is compared with the binary number in a reference table of binary numbers referenced to information corresponding to a dot-matrix printed character, and an output then produced corresponding to the character(s) identified. By using Reed Solomon mathematics, characters which have been misprinted can still be reliably identified.

摘要: The present invention is a lens assembly (10) for an infrared window through which infrared inspection of apparatus within a housing is performed when the lens assembly is mounted in an aperture provided in the housing. The lens assembly comprises an infrared transmitting pane (11) having two generally opposed surfaces (14); and a first protective grille (12) lying against one of said opposed surfaces (14) and having an array of holes (20) formed therethrough that permit infrared inspection of the apparatus through the pane. A second protective grille (12) may be provided on the opposite face and there can be alignment means (21, 32) to ensure correct alignment of each with respect to the other.

摘要: The present invention provides an infrared window assembly (10) through which thermal imagery of apparatus within a housing is performed. This comprises a lens (20), a frame (11) adapted to be mounted in the housing and support the lens; and external and internal covers (15, 14) lying when closed in planes generally parallel to the plane of the frame. The external cover (15) is located on the exterior of the housing and the internal cover (14) is located on the interior of the housing. The covers are coupled to one another and mounted on or adjacent the frame (11) to move in unison between a closed position whereat the lens is substantially concealed and an open position whereat the lens is substantially visible.
