Abstract:
An injection device for a cold runner block comprising an injection system for transferring material to be moulded in a cold and uncured state into a plurality of mould cavities via a nozzle system. The injection device comprising a plunger operably actuated by a drive assembly. The drive assembly comprises an electric servomotor controlled by a servo-controller, a gear train, a rotary-to-linear converter in the form of first roller screw drive, and a thrust reaction bearing in the form of a second roller screw drive.
Abstract:
A mould 3.020 has a heating layer 3.022 formed on at least a portion of its cavity surface. The heating element is a resistive layer 4.030, preferably formed using nanotechnology techniques. An insulating layer 5.036 isolates the resistive layer from the mould surface. Electrodes 4.032, 4.034 are provided for establishing electrical connexion with an electrical power source. This device enables more precise control of heating of the mould charge than the bulk heating of the mould.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an injection or dosing apparatus (10) which includes at least one first chamber and piston assembly (12) for receiving a first flowable material and at least one second chamber and piston assembly (12) for receiving a second flowable material, characterised in that the first and second chambers and piston assemblies (12) are mounted on an actuator or actuators (36) for movement of the pistons into the chambers (12). The present invention also provides a canister or pail evacuation system for use with an injection or dosing apparatus (10), which dispenses the contents of a pail or canister (200) of injection moulding material or component.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an apparatus (121) for exerting a holding pressure on mould dies, the apparatus including an actuating means (149) which is located adjacent to a deformation means (146), the actuating means (149) being driven by a driving means (140), wherein during an operation of the apparatus (121) the driving means (140) exerts the holding pressure on the mould dies through the deformation means (146), and in doing so causes a deformation of the deformation means (146) so as to indicate the holding pressure being exerted onto the mould dies.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a cold runner block (100) for use with one or more injector nozzles (120) in an injection moulding system for dispensing a flowable material, including a block (100) which has at least one injector nozzle mount (110) that extends away from the block (100) to receive at least one of the injector nozzles (120), an interior space of each mount defining an injection cavity (112) that is adapted to receive an injection nozzle (120), the block (100) having formed in it a coolant gallery (105,106,109) that passes into the injection cavity (112).
Abstract:
An injector tip (3.032) for an injection mould (1.010) includes a first and second conic sections (3.030, 3.028) intersecting in a plane and forming an undercut cavity (3.018) therebetween. The cavity (3.018) is connected by ducts to a water jacket (1.018) enclosing the cylindrical body of the injector (3.032).
