Abstract: Piezoelectric composite materials with high loading of piezoelectric ceramic filler of greater than 60 vol. % and up to 90 vol. % exhibit high piezoelectric properties. The higher loading of some embodiments of the composites is made possible by a low-temperature, highpressure process used to manufacture the composites. The polymer-ceramic piezoelectric composite may include a polymer matrix and a piezoelectric ceramic filler dispersed in the polymer matrix, wherein the composite comprises 60 vol. % to 90 vol. %, based on the total volume of the composite, of the piezoelectric ceramic filler. A method for manufacturing the composite may include cold sintering a mixture comprising polymer particles and piezoelectric ceramic particles.
