The present disclosure relates to a pre-5 th -Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4 th -Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method for receiving a service by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system comprises, transmitting, through an access layer to the base station, a service request message including at least one of a service name related to application data, the application data, and a temporary UE identity and receiving, from the base station, a service request accept message including response data of the application data provided from a base station server connected with a base station.

The present disclosure relates to obtaining AP information or information on a channel where the AP is positioned from a neighboring mobile terminal that has recently performed AP scanning and re-attempting to scan based on the obtained information. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method for scanning an access point (AP) in a wireless local area network (LAN) system comprises performing first WLAN scanning by a first mobile terminal, transmitting a request for WLAN AP information to a second mobile terminal that has previously performed WLAN AP scanning, receiving the WLAN AP information from the second mobile terminal, and performing second WLAN scanning based on the WLAN AP information.

Provided is a method for scanning an Access Point (AP) in a wireless communication system. The method includes receiving a beacon frame from a proximity AP located within a proximity of a User Equipment (UE) and determining whether a channel where the proximity AP is located is congested; if the channel is not congested, scanning at least one AP operating on the channel, and searching for a first AP that can communicate with a highest signal strength; determining whether to perform re-scanning for an AP in the channel; if it is determined to perform the re-scanning, predicting a time that a beacon frame is to be transmitted from the first AP; receiving a beacon frame from the first AP at the predicted time, and determining whether the channel where the first AP is located is congested; and if the channel is not congested, re-scanning at least one AP operating on the channel.

A method for providing a service by a transparent internet cache (TIC) server in a communication network supporting a multipath transport control protocol (MPTCP) is provided. The method includes establishing an MPTCP connection with a user equipment (UE) and an original server through a first network, upon receiving a service provision request from the UE, releasing the MPTCP connection established among the TIC server, the UE, and the original server if data related to a service corresponding to the service provision request is cached, and providing the service corresponding to the service provision request to the UE.

A method for managing congestion in a first node in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes receiving status information from each of nodes configuring a network with the first node, receiving information about a service requirement criterion from a second node as one of the nodes, acquiring additional path setup information for the second node based on the status information received from each of the nodes and the information about the service requirement criterion received from the second node, and transmitting the acquired additional path setup information to the second node.

The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5 th -Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4 th -Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). A method and an apparatus for communicating voice calls in a communication system are provided. A method for receiving streaming service data in a user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication network is provided. The method includes receiving streaming service data from a first access router (AR) through a first transmission control protocol (TCP) session in a state that a UE establishes the first TCP session with a corresponding node (CN); being allocated a second IP address which is different from the first IP address from a second AR which is different from the first AR if the UE hands over to the second AR while receiving the streaming service data; establishing a second TCP session which is different from the first TCP session with the CN using the second IP address; switching from the first TCP session to the second TCP session; and receiving the streaming service data from the CN through the second TCP session.
