Abstract:
It is disclosed a skin treatment composition comprising an emulsion, which comprises a continuous phase and a dispersed phase. The continuous phase comprises cellulose derivatives (CD), and nanocellulose, preferably cellulose nanocrystals (CNC), and a carrier, and the dispersed phase is an oil containing composition. Said emulsion forms a solid emulsion upon drying, said solid emulsion comprising a matrix of solid continuous phase and a dispersed oil phase.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multi-ply fibrous product comprising at least two fibrous plies, preferably a multi-ply nonwoven product, a tissue paper product or a hybrid thereof comprising at least two tissue paper plies and/or nonwoven plies comprising cellulosic fibers, wherein at least two fibrous plies are bonded to each other by means of an aqueous adhesive composition comprising an adhesive component and a dermatologicaily acceptable acid, and optionally a salt thereof; as well as a process for the manufacture of a this multi-ply fibrous product comprising the steps of a) providing at least two fibrous webs, e.g of tissue paper, b) optionally embossing at least one web in order to provide at least one pattern of protuberances, c) applying an aqueous adhesive composition comprising an adhesive component and a preferably water-soluble, dermatologicaily acceptable acid, and optionally the corresponding salt thereof, to at least one side of at least one fibrous web, e.g, paper tissue web, wherein, if at least one web is embossed, the aqueous adhesive composition is preferably applied to the distal ends of at least a part of the protuberances, d) superimposing at least two webs such that the aqueous adhesive composition is located between at least two superimposed webs, e) bonding at least two webs together, and f) optionally further steps for converting the bonded webs to the final multi-ply product. Due to the acid/buffer content in the adhesive composition, the multi-ply fibrous product of the invention can stabilize natural skin pH.
Abstract:
A hygiene article comprising one or more layers, which article comprises a solid emulsion, which solid emulsion comprises a matrix of solid continuous phase and a dispersed oil phase, wherein the solid continuous phase comprises cellulose derivatives (CD), nanocellulose and the dispersed oil phase is an oil containing composition. The cellulose derivatives (CD) are preferably chosen from carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose (EHEC), or hydroxylpropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC), preferably CMC or HEC, or combinations of two or more of these cellulose derivatives. Methods of manufacture of the hygiene article comprising the steps of preparing a film, foam, or particulate comprising the solid emulsion, and incorporating it into a hygiene article, or by applying a fluid emulsion onto a web of fibrous material, and drying the fluid emulsion until 50-100wt% of the water comprised in the fluid emulsion has evaporated, and incorporating the web of fibrous material into a hygiene article, or by applying a fluid emulsion onto a web of fibrous material already incorporated in a hygiene article and drying the emulsion.
