Abstract:
The invention relates to an insert for use together with an absorbent article such as a diaper, an incontinence product, a sanitary towel, a panty liner or the like, which insert is substantially non-urine-absorbing and comprises a support sheet (2) which has a first surface (12) and a second surface (13), the first surface (12) being treated with a skincare agent (14), and the second surface (13) being substantially impermeable to said skincare agent (14), a longitudinal centre line (8) and a transverse centre line (9). The insert furthermore comprises at least one spacing and liquid-receiving sheet (3) placed against the second surface (13) of the support sheet (2). The spacing and liquid receiving sheet facilitates the intake of liquid through the topsheet when the insert is in use.
Abstract:
The invention provides an absorbent article comprising an absorbent and an inner layer located on the wearer-facing side of the absorbent assembly. The inner layer is unattached to the absorbent assembly in at least a contact portion thereof, the contact portion further comprising at least one opening. In a first state (A), the opening is held substantially closed by a temporary seal, such that contact between the contact portion and the wearer's skin can be achieved over substantially the entire area of the contact portion. In a second predetermined state (B), the temporary seal is broken, allowing at least one of the openings to open. In that the inner layer comprises a composition, good transfer of the composition to the wearer's skin is achieved across substantially the entire contact portion.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a method for detecting when an absorbent article is unfastened or alternatively, completely removed from the body of the wearer, and when so is the case, conveying an alarm signal. The invention is intended to be used in parallel with a method for detecting wetness in the absorbent article and further relates to an integrated detection-and-alarm method for detecting unfastening and/or wetness in an absorbent article. The invention further relates to a system for detecting when an absorbent article is unfastened or removed from the body of the wearer and/or when said article is wet, and when so, conveying an alarm signal. Said system comprises (a) an absorbent article comprising at least one absorbent layer, the object to be displaced, such as a fastening system, one or more sensing devices, one or more excitation devices, and (b) a remote receiver. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of said system in the care of children and adults suffering from incontinence and/or psychological illnesses, such as dementia.
Abstract:
An absorbent article, such as a diaper, pant diaper, incontinence garment, incontinence insert, bed protecting sheet or the like intended to absorb and retain body exudates which may include low viscosity fecal materials. The article comprises an absorbent core (5) and a cover enclosing the absorbent core, said cover comprising a liquid pervious inner cover (6) on the body facing side of the absorbent core and a liquid impervious cover (7) on the garment facing side of the absorbent core, wherein said inner cover (6) in at least a fecal receiving area comprising parts of the rear and crotch portions (3, 4) of the article comprises a three-dimensionally structured hydrophilic fibrous web material (12) having on the body facing surface a plurality of alternating recessed (13) and elevated portions (14), wherein the recessed as well as the elevated portions are hydrophilic.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an insert (1) for use together with an absorbent article (5) such as a nappy, an incontinence product, a sanitary towel, a panty liner or the like. The insert (1) has an upper side (15) and a lower side (16) and comprises an essentially non-urine-absorbing spacer element (2) intended to keep the absorbent article (5) at a distance from the skin of a wearer during use. The insert (1) is characterized in that it also comprises an essentially non-urine-absorbing liquid-permeable retaining layer (3) located against said spacer element (2), which retaining layer (3) is capable of retaining motions.
