Abstract:
The present invention pertains to hygiene tissue to be used for cleaning of and transfer of lactic acid producing bacteria to the skin and urogenital area by providing hygiene tissue comprising, on separate parts of the tissue, cleaning liquid and bacterial composition, respectively. Bacterial viability and transfer ability is maintained by suspending the bacteria in a lipid which protects the bacteria from moisture. The lipid also enhances transfer of the bacteria from the tissue to the skin or urogenital area. The invention also pertains to different designs of hygiene tissues according to the present invention which allow prevention of mixing of the cleaning liquid and the bacterial composition.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an insert for use together with an absorbent article such as a diaper, an incontinence product, a sanitary towel, a panty liner or the like, which insert is substantially non-urine-absorbing and comprises a support sheet (2) which has a first surface (12) and a second surface (13), the first surface (12) being treated with a skincare agent (14), and the second surface (13) being substantially impermeable to said skincare agent (14), a longitudinal centre line (8) and a transverse centre line (9). The insert furthermore comprises at least one spacing and liquid-receiving sheet (3) placed against the second surface (13) of the support sheet (2). The spacing and liquid receiving sheet facilitates the intake of liquid through the topsheet when the insert is in use.
Abstract:
A packaged wipe (12) individually enclosed in a wrap (11), wherein the wipe is attached to an inner surface of the wrap, and the wrap can be opened to allow use of the wipe while still attached to the wrap, and avoiding smearing the fingers with the additive The wipe is folded or crumpled thus comprising a plurality of folds or crumples and the wipe has first and second opposed outer edges (12a, 12b), wherein the wipe is attached to the inner surface of the wrap (11) at or close to both of said first and second opposed outer edges, while a major part of the rest of the wipe is unattached to the wrap. The wipe in its flat unfolded or uncrumpled position has a surface area (a2) and a periphery (p2), wherein the surface area (a2) of the wipe exceeds the surface area (a1) of the wrap in opened position and the wipe is attached to the inner surface (11a) of the wrap in a way so that upon opening the wrap the periphery (p2) of the wipe will not extend outside the periphery (p1) of the wrap as seen in the plane of the opened wrap.
Abstract:
An absorbent article such a diaper, pant diaper, adult incotinence guard, sanitary napkin containing a skin conditioning agent in at least a portion of the article so as to be transferable to the skin of the wearer. The skin conditioning agent is contained in a hydrogel-foam materials (9; 19; 20) intended to be applied in the skin contact with the wearer, either directly or indirectly via a liquid permeable material (2).
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a hygiene tissue to be used for cleaning and caring of the skin and the urogenital area, simultaneously as it delivers lactic acid produc-ing bacteria, thereby reestablishing and maintaining a healthy microbial flora in these areas. The hygiene tissue is characterized in that it is impregnated with a com-position comprising a lactic acid producing bacterium/bacteria suspended in a lipid and optionally (an) additional components. Encapsulating the lactic acid producing bacterium in a lipid provided a moisturefree environment that enhanced the survival of the bacterium keeping the bacterium fit for growth after delivery to the skin. Therefore, by this approach, hygiene tissues, comprising lactic acid producing bac-teria that could be stored for long time periods, were provided. Also, the hygiene tis-sue of the present invention improved the efficiency of transfer of the lactic acid producing bacterium to the skin and urogenital area. In addition, the lipid provided a cleaning function, so that the skin was cleaned simultaneously as the lactic acid bacteria were delivered.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a sanitary article such as a sanitary napkin, a panty liner, an incontinence protector, a diaper, an incontinence pad, a feminine insert, a tampon, hygiene 5 tissue or the like, said sanitary article further comprising lactic acid producing bacteria being dispersed in a carrier, said dispersion being applied on or in parts of the final sanitary article characterized in that said carrier is a hydrophilic carrier and that said dispersion has a viscosity of 110 Pa.s or lower, at a temperature of 35ºC, and a water activity below 0,2.
Abstract:
The present invention refers to an absorbent article (111) for female use, which prevents or reduces migration of microorganisms from the anus area to the urogenital area during use, comprising a liquid-pervious top sheet (112) intended to be directed against the wearer during use and a liquid-impervious bottom sheet intended to be directed against underpants during use, which article has a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction, two essentially longitudinal side edges (113, 114) and one essentially transversal front edge (115) and one essentially transversal rear edge (116), a front portion (117), a rear portion (118), a crotch portion (119) located between the rear portion (118) and the front portion (117), the crotch portion (119) being divided in a front part (121) and a rear part (122) by a central line (120), the crotch portion (119) having a length of about 7 to 12 cm, wherein the article comprises at least one first microorganism hindering element (123) or section having a front border (124), a rear (125) border and two side borders (126), the first element (123) or section being situated so that it will be placed against the perineum of the wearer during use for preventing or reducing migration of microorganisms in the direction from the rear edge (116) to the front edge (115) of the article, the first element (123) being arranged on the top sheet (112) or the section being incorporated in the top sheet (112).
Abstract:
An absorbent article having a skincare composition applied on at least a portion thereof so as to be transferable to the skin of the wearer. Said composition is solid at 21°C and comprises at least three constituents, being chosen according to their melting behaviour and characterized, in particular, by the presence of a crystallization accelerator.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of retaining the activity of probiotic bacteria in a personal care article, wherein said probiotic bacteria are dispersed in an essentially hydrophilic phase, and said dispersion is applied to the personal care articles, that the temperature of the personal care article is lowered to below 0°C at the manufacture plant and that the personal article is delivered to the point of sale and is stored in the point of sale at said temperature. The present invention further relates to a personal care article comprising probiotic bacteria dispersed in a hydrophilic phase wherein the temperature of said personal care article is below 0°C.
Abstract:
The invention provides an absorbent article comprising an absorbent and an inner layer located on the wearer-facing side of the absorbent assembly. The inner layer is unattached to the absorbent assembly in at least a contact portion thereof, the contact portion further comprising at least one opening. In a first state (A), the opening is held substantially closed by a temporary seal, such that contact between the contact portion and the wearer's skin can be achieved over substantially the entire area of the contact portion. In a second predetermined state (B), the temporary seal is broken, allowing at least one of the openings to open. In that the inner layer comprises a composition, good transfer of the composition to the wearer's skin is achieved across substantially the entire contact portion.
