Abstract: A toolholder (21) for use with a cutting insert (23) having a clamping opening (25), comprising: a toolholder body (27); and a clamp (29) pivotably mounted to and contacting the toolholder body (27) and pivotable between a first position in which a protrusion (31) of the clamp (29) is disposed in a position in which it is adapted to be received in the clamping opening (25) in the cutting insert (23) to secure the cutting insert (23) to the toolholder body (27) and a second position in which the protrusion (31) is spaced, relative to the toolholder (21), upwardly from the first position so that the cutting insert (23) is not secured to the toolholder body (27) by the protrusion (31). A resilient member (41) is arranged relative to the clamp (29) to urge the clamp (29) to the first position and to resist pivoting of the clamp (29) to the second position. An opening (63o';63o") in the clamp (29) may receive a portion of a separate lever. A method for changing cutting inserts on a toolholder is also provided.
