Abstract: A fuel injector for an internal combustion engine, including a housing, a homogeneous member defining a continuous wall having a seat portion and a guide portion, a closure member, and a metering disk. The housing includes an inlet and an outlet disposed along a longitudinal axis. The homogeneous member is disposed proximate the outlet. The seat portion includes a sealing surface and a seat orifice. The closure member is disposed in the housing and positioned by the guide portion for reciprocal motion along the longitudinal axis between a first position such that the closure member is displaced from the seat, allowing fuel flow past the closure member, and a second position such that the closure member is contiguous the seat, precluding fuel flow past the closure member. The metering disk is proximate the seat orifice.
