Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for producing a single-layer waterbar, the method comprising extruding a melt-processed starting composition through an extruder die to form an extruded profile, wherein polymer and 25 – 65 wt.-% of at least one solid particulate filler. The invention also relates to use of a single-layer extruded profile as a waterbar, to a method for sealing an internal or an external joint between two sections of concrete, and to a sealed construction.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a sealing element (1) for sealing joints in concrete structures comprising a profile (2) having a center portion (3) and first and second side portions (4, 5) on opposite sides of, the center portion (3). The side portions (4, 5) of the profile are at least partially covered with a functional coating (6) which is operative to bond with a fresh cementitious composition casted against it and allowed to harden. The invention is also directed to a method for producing a sealing element, to a method for sealing a joint between two sections of concrete, to a sealed construction, and to use of a sealing element for sealing of a joint in a concrete construction.
