Abstract:
Method of encapsulation of stator (10) of an electrical machine, by the way of encapsulating active parts and parts of a stator housing (18) with a casting resin (15), which includes arranging at least one of the following; ironless spacers (13), pre-casted resin blocks (17), and/or plates (20) with teeth or profiles (21),in an end-winding (12) area (16) of the stator (10) prior to encapsulation of the active parts and parts of the stator housing (18) with the casting resin (15).
Abstract:
A method of cooling an electrical machine is disclosed, comprising a cooling layer that is water tight, non-corrosive, is self-supporting and has few connection points. The cooling layer comprises an impregnated cloth that can contain a cooling fluid flowing in a generally prescribed direction. The cooling layer may also include channels to ensure even cooling over a large cooling surface. Methods for producing a cooling layer are also disclosed.
Abstract:
The invention describes a segment for an energy conversion system with windings, where the segment consists of at least two objects. The first object comprises coils, insulation and a polymer while the second object comprises at least a polymer and surrounds the first object. A novel feature of the present invention is that the consolidated coils play the role of mechanical support structure in the segment. A production method for a segment for an energy conversion system is also described.
