The present invention relates to a photocurable coating resin composition for optical fibers, and more particularly, to a photocurable coating composition capable of producing an optical fiber having a low PMD (Polarization Mode Dispersion) value even though the optical fiber is produced by a non-spinning process, and to an optical fiber applied with the composition. The photocurable coating composition according to the present invention consists of a photo-polymerized urethane acrylate oligomer, a reactive monomer, a photo-initiator, and an amine additive, and can produce an optical fiber having a PMD (Polarization Mode Dispersion) value of 0.1 ps/vkm or lower by a non-spinning process.

The present invention relates to a photopolymerized resin composition wherein a low viscosity multifunctional urethane acrylate oligomer is contained to enable a film to have a low shrinkage and low expansion ratio after ultraviolet hardening and high temperature immersion into water, and minimize the ratio of the tensile strength and adhesion of the coating and strip force of optical fibers measured before and after an immersion into water. The present invention also relates to an optical fiber using the composition. The photopolymerized resin composition according to the present invention consists of: 40 to 80 wt % of a photopolymerized urethane (meth)acrylate oligomer; 10 to 40 wt % of a low viscosity multifunctional urethane acrylate oligomer; and 1 to 10 wt % of a photoinitiator.
