    Abstract: The method proposed for the cooling and subsequent packaging of foodstuffs as schematically illustrated on Figure 1 is characterized in that the foodstuff is cooled in a cooling chamber with free convection from a temperature of at least 100 DEG C to between about 98 to 90 DEG C and then adiabatically cooled to cutting or filling temperature in a cooling channel divided into sections, the foodstuff being moistened and then portioned and packaged as in the prior art. A preferred embodiment of the invention concerns a method for the production of sliced loaves.

    Abstract: The invention concerns a device for cooling large spaces by means of a flow of air generated by gravity. Air in the space is cooled by a cooling device mounted in an elevated position and characterized by the fact that, as fig. 1 shows, the outlet opening (4) of the cooling device (1) is connected to a variable-length plastic or fabric hose (2) which runs down towards the floor.
