摘要: An interconnect device includes a body portion (32) with conductors (14) passing through the body portion. An energy harvesting device (12), a power controller device(24) and a rechargeable DC power source (26) are configured such that the power controller device includes instructions programmed thereon for controlling the flow of power between the energy harvesting device, the DC power source, and a microcontroller (22). Sensor devices (16,18,20) are in electrical communication with the microcontroller. The sensors are arranged to detect parameters associated with the interconnect device and communicate the parameters to the microcontroller. An output device (28) communicates data from the microcontroller associated with the at least one sensor.

摘要: The sensing element includes a conductive composite. The conductive composite has an observable property corresponding to an external condition. The sensing element is positioned for changes in the external conditions to be identifiable in a system in response to monitoring of the observable property of the conductive composite by at least a portion of the system. The sensing process includes providing the sensing element having the conductive composite, and monitoring the observable property of the conductive composite corresponding to the external condition. This observable property may be monitored either while the change in external condition is taking place or measured later in the case of a composite material with memory. The sensing element is positioned for changes in the external condition to be identifiable in a system in response to the monitoring of the observable property of the conductive composite by at least a portion of the system.
