A cheese vat conveying apparatus (3) for conveying cheese vats along at least one dosing section of at least one curd draining apparatus, which cheese vat conveying apparatus includes driving means for moving cheese vats along a conveyor track (6) of the cheese vat conveying apparatus and lifting means (14) for bringing cheese vats to be filled into a filling position situated above the conveyor track and lowering filled cheese vats ont the conveyor track again, wherein the cheese vat conveying apparatus has an upper portion (4) in which a conveyor track is situated and at least one lifting platform, which upper portion is separeted by a partition from a lower portion (5), in which at least one lifting mechanism is situated for moving a lifting platform up and down between the conveyor track and the filling position via lifting arm, wherein the lifting arm extends through a passage opening in the partition, and at the opening a sealing is arranged.

An apparatus for making cheese, comprising at least one apparatus for receiving and compacting cheese curd, provided with a guillotine blade (20) having a cutting edge (33) and a rear edge remote from the cutting edge, for cutting off curd blocks, wherein the guillotine blade can move back and forth between guide means and has an open position in which a curd block to be cut off can pass the guillotine blade, and a closed position, in which the guillotine blade has cut off a curd block, wherein means are provided for displacing a cut-off curd block transversely to the plane of the guillotine blade, wherein in the guide means for the guillotine blade and/or at least the rear edge of the guillotine blade fluid supply channels (35) are provided for supplying a fluid to the interface between the guillotine blade and the surface of the cut-off curd block abutting against the guillotine blade.

An apparatus for making cheese, comprising at least one vertical tubular draining column (1), for receiving cheese curd, which in operation forms a curd column (W) in the draining column (2), and which draining column has at least one perforated section with a jacket (23) enclosing the respective section for operatively collecting whey egressing from the curd column, wherein each jacket enclosing a perforated section is provided with at least one whey discharge pipe, wherein at least one jacket is.provided with a whey circulation system, which comprises at least one whey circulation supply pipe (24) connected to the jacket, and at least one- whey circulation discharge pipe connected to the jacket, as well as pump means (25) connected with these pipes; and wherein at least opposite the whey circulation supply pipe within the jacket whey guide means (26) are provided, which prevent whey supplied by the pump means via the at least one whey circulation supply pipe to the space between the jacket and the perforated section from striking directly against a perforated wall part of the perforated section and the curd column situated behind it.
