Abstract:
Example disclosed media source detection methods include determining first trending coefficients for a first audio signal obtained from a first media source in communication with a media device, wherein the first trending coefficients correspond to a set of frequency bands. Example disclosed media source detection methods also include determining second trending coefficients for a second audio signal obtained from monitoring media presented by the media device, wherein the second trending coefficients correspond to the set of frequency bands. Example disclosed media source detection methods further include selecting a subset of the frequency bands for which the first trending coefficients and the second trending coefficients have matching directions, and processing respective frequency band values of the first audio signal and respective frequency band values of the second audio signal for the subset of the frequency bands to determine whether the first media source provided the media presented by the media device.
Abstract:
Example methods and apparatus to recognize metered devices connected to proprietary WiFi extenders are disclosed herein. In some examples, a first device comprising at least one memory including a table, and at least one processor to broadcast a first message to a network extender, the first message including a first address associated with a second device and a message identifier, identify, in response to obtaining a second message including the message identifier, a second address embedded on a data link layer of the second message, and store the second address in the table in association with the second device.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to monitor WI-FI media streaming using alternate access points. An example apparatus disclosed herein monitor wireless traffic includes an example traffic monitor to identify a connection of a WI-FI client to a primary access point and capture a management frame transmitted from the primary access point to the WI-FI client. The example apparatus further includes an example frame generator to insert a change channel announcement into the captured management frame and a router to cause a wireless interface to transmit the beacon frame to the WI-FI client.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to redirect internet clients for media monitoring. An example apparatus disclosed herein includes a wireless communication controller to establish a plurality of connections to a WI-FI router, the plurality of connections corresponding to simulated WI-FI clients, and a client interface to identify a connection of a WI-FI client to the apparatus and route network traffic of the WI-FI client to the WI-FI router via the plurality of connections.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to determine virtual WiFi data rate. An example disclosed herein includes a control frame receiver to capture control frames from a user device. The example disclosed herein further includes a bitrate calculator to calculate a bitrate for each control frame by dividing a bitmap of a control frame by an amount of time between the control frame and a previously captured control frame. The example disclosed herein further includes an interval timer to control a length of time that the control frames are captured before calculating the virtual bandwidth. The example disclosed herein further includes a virtual bandwidth calculator to calculate the virtual bandwidth after the length of time, the virtual bandwidth calculated by dividing an average bitrate from the control frames by the length of time.
Abstract:
Example levitating meter apparatus are disclosed. An example metering system includes a meter having a display to present indicia associated with a panelist, the meter having a microphone to receive audio output from the media device and circuitry to perform media monitoring. The example metering system includes a base having a cavity to receive at least a portion of the meter, the meter to magnetically levitate relative to the base to decouple the meter from the base.
