Abstract:
An absorbent article includes a first waist region, a second waist region and a crotch region disposed between the first and second waist regions; and a chassis comprising a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent article also includes an ear disposed in one of the waist regions. The ear includes a laminate having a first nonwoven and a second nonwoven and an elastomeric material sandwiched between said first and second nonwovens in an elasticized region. The laminate also includes a first bonding region comprising a first plurality of ultrasonic bonds having a first bond density, and a second bonding region comprising a second plurality of ultrasonic bonds having a second bond density. The first bond density is greater than the second bond density.
Abstract:
A fastener for a disposable absorbent article, having a fixed portion attachable to the article, a connective portion joined to and contiguous with the fixed portion, and a folding line disposed between the fixed and connective portions. The fastener may be free of a release tape. The fastener may further comprise an adhesive disposed upon a surface of the fixed portion of the fastener being attached to the article, the adhesive being offset from each of the edges of the fixed portion including the edge formed by the folding line, the dimensions of the offsets being defined herein. The adhesive may be applied during the assembly of the absorbent article on a converting line.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a disposable absorbent article, e.g. a diaper, having a backsheet, an absorbent core and a topsheet, said absorbent article having a length L, said topsheet having an opening and primary elasticated areas and secondary elasticated areas, the latter being curved or angled, having an overall curvature with a radius of from 0.3 L to 3.2L, wherein the average transverse distance between a primary elasticated area and a secondary elasticated area of a crotch side portion is preferably at least 15 mm.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an external change aid that comprises first engaging means which can engage with a landing member on an article is provided, the change aid having a specific peel force and/ or shear force, when engaged such an article. Also provided are combinations of such external change aids and articles and methods for applying an article by use of the specific external change aid. Also provided is external change aids having specifically designed engaging means structures and articles with specifically designed engaging means structures.
Abstract:
An absorbent article includes a chassis having a topsheet, a backsheet including an outer cover non-woven material, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet; at least one elastically elongatable panel joined to the chassis; and a fastening system, the fastening system having a male fastener and a female fastening material.
Abstract:
A wipe (1) exhibiting a right balance of properties that consumers desire for a wipe, i.e. softness, strength, coverage and flexibility and at competitive costs, comprises a sheet of fibrous material (2) having two side panels (7, 8) comprising regions (12) of a first basis weight, and a central panel (9) comprising a region (14) of a second basis weight.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a disposable absorbent article, such as a diaper, training pants, adult incontinence article, having a specific topsheet with an opening to receive bowel movement waste (BM) and which is such that it masks the waste present underneath said topsheet. The topsheet is air permeable and it has a uniform pore size distribution with small pores only and it has a low surface energy and therefore an alcohol repellency of at least 7, typically at least 9 or even preferably 10.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an absorbent, disposable article, preferably a diaper, having a backsheet and a topsheet comprising a first waist region, a second waist region, and a crotch region interposed there between, a longitudinal axis, and an opening, which provides a passageway to a primary void space for receiving bodily exudates therein, positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet,; whereby the opening is positioned in at least the crotch region along the longitudinal axis; whereby the topsheet is elasticated; and whereby the article has a shortened article portion, as defined herein, which has a shortened article length L, a stretched shortened article length Ls and a contracted shortened article length Lc, whereby the article and/ or its topsheet has an specific elastic profile and/ or a specific ratio of Lc to Ls. The article preferably has a slit opening with on each side elastic regions, preferably in the shape of an X, as shown in figure 1, and preferably making an angle with the adjacent topsheet and thereby bending away from the void space underneath the topsheet.
Abstract:
An absorbent article includes a chassis having i) a topsheet, ii) a backsheet comprising a film layer and an outer cover layer, and iii) an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet; and a fastening system, the fastening system having a male fastener and a female fastening material, wherein the female fastening material is comprised of a portion of the outer cover layer that is located in a landing zone area; wherein the film layer and the outer cover layer are joined together through a backsheet adhesive applied in a first pattern; and in the landing zone area, the film layer and the outer cover layer are joined together through an additional LZA adhesive applied in a second pattern.
Abstract:
A method of reducing a wetness gradient development for a package of wet wipes is provided. The method includes, after wet wipes are enclosed within a package to form the package of wet wipes, locating the package of wet wipes in a first orientation such that a first side of the package of wet wipes faces downward and an opposite second side of the package of wet wipes faces upward to form a first wetness gradient after a preselected amount of time. Prior to opening the package of wet wipes to access the wet wipes enclosed within the package of wet wipes, inverting the package of wet wipes according to a predetermined turning schedule to place the package of wet wipes in a second orientation such that the first side of the package of wet wipes faces upward and the second side of the package of wet wipes faces downward to form a second wetness gradient that is different from the first wetness gradient.
