The present invention relates to a shampoo composition and methods of using the same. The shampoo composition includes a silicone grafted tapioca starch (INCI Tapioca Starch Polymethylsilsesquioxane), a detersive surfactant, a cationic conditioning polymer, and a carrier. The shampoo composition can provide both conditioning and volume benefits.

A personal care composition comprising: a) a synthetic random copolymer having a net positive charge comprising; i.) a nonionic monomer unit of the following formula: where R is H or C 1-4 alkyl; and R 1 and R 2 are independently selected from the group consisting of H, C 1-4 alkyl, CH 2 OCH 3 , CH 2 OCH 2 CH(CH 3 ) 2 , and phenyl, or together are C 3-6 cycloalkyl; and ii.) a cationic monomer unit with 2 or more positive charges of the following formula: where each of v, v', and v'' is independently an integer of from 1 to 6, w is zero or an integer of from 1 to 10, and X - is an anion. and; b) a detersive surfactant; c) an azole; d) salicylic acid and e) an aqueous carrier.

A hair conditioning composition comprising: a) from about 0.01 wt.% to about 10 wt.% of a non-guar galactomannan polymer derivative having a mannose to galactose ratio of greater than 2 : 1 on a monomer to monomer basis, said non-guar galactomannan polymer derivative selected from the group consisting of a cationic non-guar galactomannan polymer derivative and an amphoteric non-guar galactomannan polymer derivative having a net positive charge; i. wherein said non-guar galactomannan polymer derivative has a molecular weight from about 1,000 to about 10,000,000; and ii. wherein said non-guar galactomannan polymer derivative has a cationic charge density from about 0.7 meq/g to about 7 meq/g; b) a conditioning agent selected from the group consisting of cationic surfactants, cationic polymers, nonvolatile silicones, nonvolatile hydrocarbons, saturated C 14 to C 22 straight chain fatty alcohols, nonvolatile hydrocarbon esters, and mixtures thereof; and c) wherein said hair conditioning composition is substantially free of an anionic surfactant.

The compositions of the present invention relate to personal cleansing compositions having from about 0.01 to about 5 wt.% of a cationic cellulose polymer; from about 5 to about 50 wt.% of an anionic surfactant system, having an ethoxylate level and a sulfate level wherein said ethoxylate level is in the amount of 1.04 multiplied by the molecular weight of said cationic cellulose polymer divided by 1,000,000 plus from about 0.75 to about 3.25, wherein said sulfate level is in the amount of 0.42 multiplied by the charge density of said cationic cellulose polymer plus from about 1.1 to about 3.6; from about 0.01 to about 5 wt.% of a mono or divalent salt; and at least about 20 wt.% of an aqueous carrier.

Hair treatment compositions that can increase the appearance of thicker and fuller hair, by increasing hair volume and root lift. More specifically, it relates to a hair treatment or styling composition including a silicone grafted starch and a film forming polymer. Such compositions can be applied to any areas where a thicker and fuller hair appearance is desired, such as the hair and/or scalp.

Disclosed are topical leave-on cosmetic compositions, including packaged leave-on compositions, for direct application to the scalp, comprising a) from about 40 % to about 99 % by weight of a volatile liquid, b) from about 0.005 % to about 20 % by weight of a skin active agent, and c) from about 0.1 % to about 20 % by weight of a moisturizing material, preferably a liquid humectant. The composition is a leave-on formulation that is substantially free of cleansing surfactants and is applied directly to the scalp. Also disclosed are methods of treating the scalp by directly applying the topical composition to the scalp. It has been found that the compositions and methods of the present invention can provide improved scalp moisturization and improved deposition of an anti-dandruff or other skin active agent on the skin, without unduly affecting hair cosmetics.
