Abstract: A method of generating offspring with a precharacterized genome is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises the steps of (a) obtaining ungulate haploid embryonic cells, (b) deriving haploid embryonic outgrowth from the cells of step (a), (c) characterizing the genome of the haploid cells of step (b), and (d) deriving diploid embryos or offspring from the cells of step (c).
