Abstract: A computerized system for initiating preparation of a customized cosmeceutical formulation, comprising a processor configured to execute program instructions to instantiate a cosmeceutical utility configured for (i) obtaining a skin type, a first skin concern and a prioritized set of second skin concerns from a user; (ii) selecting a base composition from a set of base compositions based on the skin type and the first skin concern; (iii) selecting a subset of booster compositions by determining a prioritized original set of booster compositions based on the prioritized set of second skin concerns; and verifying mutual compatibility of a subset of booster compositions in the original set. If the verifying indicates incompatibility among two or more booster compositions in the subset, the utility is configured to substitute a lower-priority booster composition in the two or more booster compositions with a booster composition that is in the original set but not in the subset; and (iv) causing an electronic message comprising a request to be released towards a recipient, the request identifying the selected base composition and the selected subset of booster compositions.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method that resolves the complexity in implementing dynamic programming in the multiple sequence alignment. The method uses a referral algorithm which involves the step of selecting a reference sequence with which all the query sequences get into pair wise alignment individually. Each of this pair is considered as an individual plane, over which padding operation is performed. Resultantly, a stack is generated with at least one uniform side in between each plane.

Abstract: A biological specimen of a subject is handled and tracked for a procedure involving that specimen. Prior to initiation of the procedure, a first procedure data structure (PDS) is generated. The first PDS binds an identifier corresponding to the subject with an indicator of a procedure to be performed on the specimen and identifiers of a specimen container and a specimen holder that physically contacts the biological specimen, as well as a scheduled time for the procedure. A schedule of a plurality of PDSs including the first PDS, is displayed on a display device of a graphical user interface. Following initiation of the procedure, the first PDS is updated based on user input, and after the procedure, at least a portion of the first PDS, as updated, is stored in a database in conjunction with other PDSs respectively associated with other completed procedures.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and methods for receive a report from the diagnostic apparatus via the network interface for a testing parameter, the report comprising an identifier of a diagnostic apparatus generating the report, an identifier of a reagent used in the testing parameter, an identifier of software installed in the diagnostic apparatus, and a result of a testing parameter; determine whether the testing parameter is designated as a qualification run; when it is determined that the testing parameter is designated as a qualification run, the processor is further configured to: determine whether the software installed in the diagnostic apparatus is approved software by comparing the identifier of the software in the report with identifiers in memory, wherein when the software installed in the diagnostic apparatus is not approved, the associated status for the diagnostic apparatus is unqualified; examine the result of the testing parameter to determine whether the diagnostic apparatus or the reagent is qualified; and update the associated status. Embodiements also relate to a sequencing apparatus.

Abstract: Technologies for identifying genetic engineering proteins, organisms, and context signatures include a computing device that may be in communication with multiple client devices. The technologies include receiving a query sequence for a biological specimen, determining an alignment of the query sequence for regions of interest, and determining whether a match exists upstream or downstream from the region of interest in a predetermined database of genetic engineering context signatures. The search range may be predetermined based on each context signature. The technologies further include determining an alignment of the query sequence against a predetermined database of sequences indicative of genetic engineering, and determining whether a similarity score of the alignment exceeds a predetermined threshold. The database may include a genetic engineering protein database or a genetic engineering organism database. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: A method of diagnosing acquired CNS injury (ACNSI) in a subject comprising: (a) obtaining a test sample from the subject (b) comparing levels of a lipid species or a cohort of multiple lipid species in the test sample with the levels of the single lipid species or the cohort of multiple lipid species in a control sample, or comparing to a normal reference range, (i.e. non- ACNSI (referred to as "normal") subjects) using quantitative measurements, wherein a change (i.e. a drop or an increase) in the level of the lipid species or the cohort of multiple lipid species in the test sample relative to the control sample is indicative of ACNSI in the subject.
