    Abstract: The invention relates to a pipette comprising a volume adjustment mechanism, with which the stroke of piston may changed by turning the rod. The rod (10) comprises a knob (11) having a lower position and an upper position so that when the knob is rotated, in the lower position the rod does not rotate with the knob but in the upper position it rotates. So the change of volume setting by accident is prevented.

    Abstract: A pipette is described which pipette includes a piston for aspirating liquid into and dispensing out of a container in the pipette. The pipette is provided with at least one tracking element (21) which is able to count the magnitude of some variable or variables relating to the amount of use of the pipette, means (3, 4, ) for creating a limit magnitude for each variable, and means for giving information when the limit value is exceeded.
