Abstract: A treatment or medicinal substance (12) is administered to an animal (16), for example a wild animal, by launching a frangible missile containing the substance at the animal, rupturing the missile on impact and spattering the substance onto the skin of the animal. Launching is by a launcher (22) which can be aimed. The missile may contain a marking agent for marking the animal when it is hit. The invention provides such a missile containing the substance, and the combination of such a missile and a launcher.
