Abstract: The invention relates to a method, mobile user device and system for identifying authenticity of a cylindrical object (10) from photographic images. The method comprises acquiring two or more photographic images (40, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54) of the cylindrical object (10) from different angles around the cylinder axis (A) with an imaging device (30), generating a target image (70) from the two or more photographic images (40, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54) by image stitching, analysing the target image (70) in relation to a reference image (90) representing an original cylindrical object and generating an identification output based on the analysing, and generating an authenticity identification indication based on the identification output.
