Abstract: A fire protection system can include one or more pipes coupled with a fluid source, a pipe fitting coupled with the one or more pipes downstream of the fluid source, and at least one sprinkler coupled with the one or more pipes and the pipe fitting. The pipe fitting can include a wall defining an opening, the wall having an outer diameter, a first wall thickness at the opening, and a second wall thickness inward from the opening, the second wall thickness greater than the first wall thickness. The at least one sprinkler can be coupled with the one or more pipes and the pipe fitting to receive fluid from the fluid source through the one or more pipes and the pipe fitting.

Abstract: A head adapter for a fire sprinkler includes a body defining a volume. The body has an elbow shape and includes a first opening that couples with a fluid supply line and provides fluid communication between the fluid supply line and the volume of the body and a second opening that provides fluid communication between the volume of the body and the fire sprinkler. The second opening includes a gasket. The body also includes a cap coupled with the open second end of the body such that the gasket is disposed between the cap and the volume. The cap couples the body to the fire sprinkler to provide fluid communication between the fluid supply line and the fire sprinkler. The volume of the body is shaped such that fluid from the fluid supply line is directed to the fire sprinkler.

Abstract: A sprinkler assembly that includes a frame having a body including an inlet, an outlet and an internal passageway extending between the inlet and the outlet to define a longitudinal sprinkler axis. Two frame arms extend distally from the body, and each arm has a portion defining a cross-sectional area with a lateral surface and a medial surface spaced about a first plane bisecting the body with the sprinkler axis disposed in the first plane. An axially aligned thermally responsive glass-bulb type trigger is disposed along the sprinkler axis. The cross- sectional areas of the frame arms are asymmetrical with respect to one another about the first plane and each cross-sectional area is asymmetric about a second plane perpendicular to the first plane. The lateral surface of each arm includes an undulation to provide the sprinkler assembly with substantially consistent thermal sensitivity about the sprinkler axis.

Abstract: A dry sprinkler assembly capable of providing fire suppression protection, including early suppression fast response protection and storage protection of a commodity having a nominal storage height of at least 20 feet beneath a ceiling of with a maximum nominal 40 foot ceiling height. The dry sprinkler assembly includes an internal passageway and an outlet defining a nominal K-factor of at least 16.8 GPM/PSI1'2. Embodiments of the sprinkler assembly include a deflector having a plurality of tines radially disposed about a central portion to define slots therebetween. Embodiments of the deflector define a non-planar deflecting member and a member with a non-circular perimeter.
