Abstract: Diagnostics for glaucoma, which are based on detection of non-wildtype GLC1A genes or proteins in a subject, glaucoma therapeutics and assays for identifying agents that modulate the activity of GLC1A and that are therefore useful in treating or preventing glaucoma are described.
