Abstract: A method performed by an on-board control unit (114) of a vehicle (110) for enabling a safe operation of the vehicle (110) is provided. The method comprises receiving, via a wireless communication interface (511, 115), a second activation code (312) from an off-board control station (100) capable of remotely operating the vehicle (110). The method also comprises activating the vehicle (110) for operation in case the received second activation code correspond to a first activation code (311) comprised in the on-board control unit (114). An on-board control unit (114), as well as, an off-board control station (100) and method therein for enabling a safe operation of a vehicle (110) are also provided.

Abstract: A navigation system for a vehicle arranged at a working space, the navigation system comprising an on-board subsystem and an off-board subsystem. The off-board subsystem comprises at least one vehicle presence detector configured to generate data indicative of the presence of a vehicle, a processing unit configured to receive the generated data from the at least one vehicle presence detector, the processing unit being configured to determine a position of the vehicle based on the received data, and a transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit a signal representative of said position of the vehicle. The on-board subsystem comprises a receiver configured to wirelessly receive said signal from the transmitter and a control unit configured to control the navigation of the vehicle based on the received signal. Also disclosed is a method of navigating a vehicle arranged at a working space.
