Abstract: The present invention relates to means for and methods of collecting, enriching, and analyzing nucleic acids of interest of interest, e.g. those that are associated with the development of sepsis. These means may be used in vivo or in vitro using obtained nucleic acids of interest, e.g. for liquid biopsies. The invention can, inter alia, be used in the detection and enrichment as well as analysis of nucleic acids of interests such as those derived from pathogens or from individuals that may contain such pathogens.
