Abstract: A method and/or system configured to select state estimator operation settings based on one or more system inputs; and determine a battery state of a battery, based on sensor measurements associated with the battery, using a state estimator operating under the state estimator operation settings. Abstract: A system or method for determining a battery state can include characterizing a response of a plurality of batteries to an applied load, generating a set of models based on the response of the plurality of batteries to the applied load, measuring battery properties of a battery using a sensor, and using a state estimator to determine a battery state associated with a battery. A system or method for determining a battery state can include updating a battery model associated with a battery, wherein updates for the battery model can be determined by a processor collocated with the battery and/or a remote computing system, wherein the battery model is used by a state estimator to determine a battery state for the battery.
