The inner enclosure 8 encloses, in use, a controlled atmosphere for the controlled growing environment (4). A light-transmissive outer enclosure 6 surrounds the inner enclosure (8) and is arranged to protect the inner enclosure (8) from the external environment, in use. A ventilated cavity (10) is defined between the outer enclosure (6) and inner enclosure (8). The outer enclosure (6) has at least one lower ventilation opening (11) and at least one upper ventilation opening (12) for allowing controlled ventilation of the ventilated cavity (10). A radiation control layer is located in the ventilated cavity (10) between the outer enclosure (6) and the inner enclosure (8) and is arranged to provide controlled absorption of incident solar radiation, whereby to control the level of solar radiation within the controlled growing environment (4).

Zur Schaffung einer Abdeckung (7), durch die die Kondenswasserbildung an der Innenseite der Abdeckung (7) reduziert bzw. verhindert und Energie zum Heizen des Gewächshauses (1) gespart werden kann, ist vorgesehen, dass die außenliegende Folie (8) durch eine Kammerfolie (11) gebildet ist. Durch die Kammerfolie (11) in Kombination mit zumindest einer innenliegenden Folie (9) wird eine wesentlich verbesserte Isolierwirkung erzielt und eine Kondenswasserbildung an der Innenseite der Abdeckung (7) verhindert bzw. reduziert.

The ventilation system comprises fixed and foldable panels each consisting of frames, cross-shaped bars and a two-fold cover for increasing the insulation performance of the greenhouse and facilitating the construction and maintenance of the greenhouse due to easy assembly, panes each consisting of foldable panel having divided halves foldable around a hinge member and situated the ceiling and sidewall of the greenhouse, and drive means for selectively opening and closing the panes. Accordingly, when panes are opened, indoor air of high temperature flows out of the greenhouse through the fully opened portion and outdoor air of low temperature flows into the greenhouse through the laterally opened portions.

The outer surface of the polymer bag has a reflective coating for reflecting energy through the energy transmissive structure. There is at least one elongated weight attached to the polymer bag to ensure that the polymer bag is maintained in its optimum position. There is at least one air distribution header attached to the elongated support to inflate or deflate the polymer bag. In an inflated state, the polymer bag blocks the transmission of energy and in a deflated state, the polymer bay allows the transmission of energy through the transmission energy panel of the energy transmissive structure.
