Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a pneumatic support (1) which can be folded together as a result of joints (10) in the pressure member (3) and has a flexible web (12) that is connected to the tractive member (4) over the entire length of the latter and is connected to the pressure member (3) only in the region of the joints of said member (10). This allows the joints (10) to be fixed in such a way that the pressure member (3) does not buckle at the site of the joints and thus remains stable.
Abstract:
This invention relates to building components manufactured from flexible foil membranes. The invention provides a building component comprising an outer layer of plastics foil supported by a frame; and a water permeable sheet supported by said frame and defining a space between the outer layer and said water permeable sheet; wherein the water permeable sheet is penetrable by liquid and is arranged to retain liquid in said space between the water permeable sheet and said outer layer. Preferably the building component is an inflatable structure further comprising an inner layer of plastics foil supported by the frame in which the inner and outer layer define an inflatable space therebetween.
Abstract:
A backpack (160) with an air frame (162). The backpack includes a storage compartment, an air frame (162), and at least one strap (168) for securing the bag to a person. The air frame (162) includes an air bladder, which stiffens as it is inflated. The air frame (162) may include portions that are individually inflatable, and a pump (26) may be included for inflating the air frame (162). The backpack (160) may include inflatable portions (22) designed to provide support to specific portions of a user's body.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a pneumatic structural element comprised of an essentially cylindrical air-tight hollow body (1) having a radius rh and length Lh and two caps (5), which is manufactured from a preferably textile material that is flexible but has limited stretchability. The side of the hollow body placed under load is provided with a push rod (2) having a length Lh, which is prevented from laterally buckling on the hollow body (1), and both ends of the hollow body are provided with a knob (3). Inside the knobs (3), at least one pair of traction elements (4) is joined in a non-positive manner to the push rod (2). The traction elements (4) extend in a helicoidal and opposed manner while revolving around the hollow body (1) with a whole number of revolutions, and they intersect one another at points (8), which are located on a surface line (7) of the hollow body (1) opposite the push rod (2). The push rod (2), the surface line (7) and the longitudinal axis A of the hollow body (1) define a plane E in which the exerted loads and forces are located.

Abstract:
An inflatable light concentrating mirror (10) comprising a first transparent sheet (1) and a second reflective sheet (2), wherein the first sheet and second sheet are connected or sealed to each other, whereby a void is provided there-between, the void being adapted to receive a gas so as to inflate the light concentrating mirror, characterized in that the mirror further comprises tensioning means (14) adapted to produce a defined longitudinal tension (11) in at least the second sheet (2) such that wrinkles or creases therein are significantly reduced. The tensioning means comprises one or more tensioning devices (14) adapted to be attached to at least one mirror end or one free end of the second sheet, the tensioning device is configured to provide a pulling force (11) on the second sheet so as to provide the longitudinal tension.
