La invención también se refiere a un conjunto de protección para ciclistas.
Abstract:
Articles including protective gear for a variety of sports and activities provide protection from one or both of linear and angular forces that either directly or indirectly impact the gear when it is donned. The articles include at least two layers of material that provide multimodal energy dissipation to minimize the extent of transmission of impact forces to tissue.
Abstract:
Disclosed are body impact protection systems. The body impact protection system may comprise at least one plate element layer, such as an interconnected meshed plate element network. Another embodiment may be directed to a protection system comprising at least one plate element layer, such as an interconnected meshed plate element network overlapping and adjacent to at least one liner or gel. Further embodiments may comprise the combination of multiple body impact protection systems in a single protective garment or device. Impact protection systems may be designed to protect various body features, such as for example, the head, shoulders, elbows, arms, wrists, hands, chest, torso, thighs, knees, shins, ankles, feet, and the like. The inventive body impact protection system affords more protection from the force of an impact and comfort than conventional body impact protection systems.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are devices for preventing or treating an injury to an individual. Also provided are devices and methods for alleviating pain or discomfort caused by equipment or other padding or articles of clothing or uniform. The device can include a disposable padded tape having a plurality of force absorbing zones. It can also include an adhesive layer for attaching the device to a body contacting surface.
Abstract:
A modular protective structure may be formed from an impact absorbing material formed into a repeating pattern of one or more geometrical shapes that may be assembled to a size, shape, and/or configuration desired to protect an athlete from impact. The thickness of the structure may vary in a repetitive fashion along at least a first axis of the structure, and may further vary in a repetitive fashion along a second axis of the structure.
Abstract:
There are described a device (10) and a method of absorbing the energy of an impact (I). The device comprises: at least one main body (20) containing a controllable fluid composition (F); at least one proximity detection means (30), suitable for detecting an imminent impact (I); a control unit (40) in communication with said at least one proximity detection means (30). The control unit (40) is configured to receive in input an activation signal (s) from said at least one proximity detection means (30) and, based on the received activation signal (s), generate a stimulus (M; E) suitable for reversibly modifying the viscosity of the controllable fluid composition (F), thereby absorbing the energy of the impact (I). There is further described an article (100, 200) comprising the device (10) for absorbing the energy of an impact (I).
Abstract:
Abstract:
An improved protective structure has a significant energy absorbing or dissipating capability. The protective structure is a composite article that is deformable to a certain extent for the protection of the human body and other objects wherein the protective structure of the invention absorbs significant energies associated with impacts and sudden movements. The protective structure includes a primary or outer container or vessel which is deformable and has an inner compartment which preferably includes a defined volume of an incompressible fluid. The volume of fluid also includes compressible or deformable hollow capsules distributed within the interior compartment, wherein the liquid serves as the interstitial medium which surrounds the capsules, wherein the hollow capsules are filled with a compressible gas. During impacts or sudden movements, forces are distributed from the outer container wall to the interstitial liquid which distributes the forces to the capsules. The capsules themselves can deform when subjected to the energies and forces such that the entire composite structure serves to absorb and dissipate the energies and forces.
