A method of retroactively forming a tamper-resistant said sheet (10) for such an object (12). A method of verifying a correct installation of such a sheet (10), and/or to a method of guiding installation of said object (12) using the sheet (10).

A multi-layered face mask (100) coated with discontinuous patterns of phase change material (300) are incorporated into the face mask (100) construction to provide for cooling of the microclimate in the dead space of the face mask (100). Optimized cooling is achieved by strategic placement of layers coated with a phase change material (300) within the mask (100) construction and the amount and density of the phase change material (300) in contact with the temperature sensitive areas of the face, as well as areas experiencing the maximum amount of flux from exhaled breath. The shape of the mask (100) can also be adjusted to increase skin contact with the phase change material (300) and decrease dead space volume, which reduces the volume of warm exhaled air and can provide sufficient cooling with less phase change material (300). The discontinuous patterns of phase change material (300) also provide inter-layer spacing between the layers of the mask (100), which can improve splash resistance.

Embodiments of the present invention replace relatively bulky nonwoven thermal insulating materials used in thermal liners with thin, lightweight, flexible films that maintain or improve TPP performance while reducing the thickness, and enhancing the flexibility, of the thermal liner so as to increase wearer comfort. Moreover, the films incorporated into the thermal liners can be both air and vapor permeable such that the TPP performance is not realized at the expense of THL performance. Rather, the THL performance of garments incorporating embodiments of thermal liners contemplated herein is comparable to - if not improved over - garments formed with traditional thermal liners.

The present disclosure provides articles of manufacture with a structure that resists liquid impacts, such as from rain, as well as methods of making such articles. In some embodiments, the articles include two layers of porous material. The inner layer is made from a hydrophobic porous material or has a hydrophobic coating. A spacer layer is positioned in-between the two layers to provide physical separation between the layers, airflow between the layers, and other benefits. Importantly, the configuration of the spacer layer allows each of the other layers to be made from more breathable materials than existing waterproof materials, while allowing the article as a whole to withstand far greater water impact pressures than either layer individually.
