Abstract:
A sleeve member (10) for storing at least one substantially planar article (16), such as a compact disk (CD) comprises a sleeve (12) and a connecting member (24). The sleeve (12) has an opening (26) and encloses a space adapted to receive the planar article (16). The connecting member (24) is affixed to the sleeve and defined therein an opening (26) adapted to receive a rail (52). A storage device (48) for substantially planar articles includes a base (50) having a rail (52), and at least one sleeve member (10).
Abstract:
A U-shaped adjustable shelving system comprised of a plurality of interconnecting shelf sections including a back shelf section, a right side shelf section and a left side shelf section. The right and left side shelf sections are coupled to the back shelf section with a sliding dovetail arrangement so as to allow adjustment of the right and left side shelf sections relative to the back shelf section in order to change the width of the adjustable shelving system. The back shelf section is adjustable in length to substantially match the width of the space in which the shelving system is to be installed. The adjustable shelving system includes support risers for self-supporting the shelving system above a surface. The adjustable shelf can be easily installed into a variety of cabinets, and allows access to small containers, such as those for herbs and spices.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a sorting apparatus (10) for sorting mail and the like. The apparatus (10) includes a curved rack (13) with a plurality of indents. A plurality of curved shelves (11, 12) can be installed at a desired position on the rack (13). To facilitate installation, each shelf (11, 12) includes a bracket (21) on the back with a cross bar which is adapted to locate on one of the indents (20) on the rack (13). A plurality of partitions (40) can be installed on each shelf (11, 12) to provide slots for placing mail. Each partition (40) can be lifted and moved to a desired position on a desired shelf (11, 12).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a coupling (27) for use with a holder. The invention also relates to a tool that can be attached to a holder using such a coupling. The coupling comprises a slot (26) to hold the holder in a retaining position, a channel (25) defining a pathway which permits movement of the holder from an outer peripheral edge of the coupling into the retaining position, and having a cam surface (30) on its outer peripheral edge about which the coupling can be moved to facilitate movement of the holder out of the retaining position into alignment with the channel for removal.
Abstract:
A storage container (10) for storing, transporting and displaying various information and entertainment storage media, the container (10) including a floor panel (12) having a front edge (16) and a rear edge (17), and right and left edges (18, 19), a back wall (13) which attaches to the rear edge of the floor panel (17), left and right side panels (14, 15), which are attached to the left and right edges (18, 19) respectively of the floor panel (12), each side panel (14, 15) having a lower portion which terminates in a front foot (32) and the back wall (13) including a vertebra (50) which has a lower portion which terminates in a rear foot (52). Also disclosed is a system of stackable storage containers (100) for storing, transporting and displaying various information and entertainment storage media, including a plurality of containers (10) having front and rear feet (32, 52), side panel contact shelves (20), vertebra contact shelves (54), and vertebrae (50), which are in alignment such that when an upper storage container (10) is stacked vertically upon a lower storage container (10), the front feet (32) of the upper storage container (10) rest upon the side panel contact shelves (20) and the rear foot (52) of the upper storage container (10) rests on the vertebra contact shelf (54) of the lower storage container (10), and the vertebrae (50) align to form a spine (110).
Abstract:
Provided is a basket for storing food items in a temperature-controlled environment and a refrigeration appliance including such a basket. The basket includes a substantially-horizontal platform coupled to two or more upwardly- extending walls to form an open container for receiving the food items to be stored in the temperature-controlled environment. A partition is provided for dividing the basket into two or more storage regions. A guide is coupled to at least one of the platform and the walls, and extends substantially parallel to an upper perimeter of at least one of the walls to define a range of adjustment of the partition. A fastener securely couples the partition to the guide to be adjusted to two or more different locations where the partition is to divide the basket.
