Abstract:
A chair system according to embodiments of the present invention includes a base comprising a seat for a user and one or more support legs, a back, and a flexible back support element rigidly coupled to the back and to the base, the flexible back support element comprising a flex zone, the flex zone comprising one or more notches, wherein the back is reclinable from an upright position to a reclined position, wherein the one or more notches are configured to narrow as the back reclines from the upright position to the reclined position, and wherein the one or more notches are open in the upright position and closed in the reclined position.
Abstract:
Device for attaching the backrest of a seat to a support arm, in which device: - the backrest comprises a rigid shell (5); - at least one elastic compressible shoe (6) is inserted between the shell (5) and each point at which the arm (1) is to be attached to the shell (5); - the shell (5) is attached to the arm (1) by attaching means that allow the shell (5) some angular travel relative to the arm (1) between a first position in which the shoe (6) is not compressed and a second position in which the shoe (6) is compressed.
Abstract:
An ergonomic chair having a seat with selectively located slot patterns or spring mechanisms to reduce pressure on the occupant of the seat and a flexible back that allows the occupant to recline while at the same time providing lumbar support. An embodiment of the chair may be telescopically stacked in a space-saving configuration of a plurality of identical chairs.
Abstract:
A dining chair has a reclining mechanism. The dining chair comprises of plurality of legs, a bse, backrest and supporting surfaces. This invention provides a mechanism to enable a dining chair to recline and automatically retract to its original position once the reclining force is removed. This invention enables the user to secure an accurate posture of sitting and also enable the user to enjoy the relaxing posture while sitting on the same dining chair. The reclining dining chair comprises of a reclinable mechanism that could be embedded or attached to the dining chair. The dining chair comprises of a reclining backrest and other members of a common dining chair, comprises of plurality of legs, a base and other supporting surfaces that allow movements to the backrest with respect to other members of the said dining chair. The movement comprises a range of reclining movements where the backrest is able to move between upright positions to a certain range of angle until the maximum reclining angle is reached. The backrest will automatically retract to its original position once the force is removed.
Abstract:
A tiltable seat (12) of an office chair has a cushion (30) in which is embedded a contoured seating piece (28) which, viewed from below, has a convex midseat. Parts of the cushion (30) situated between the underside of the seating piece (28) and the upper side of the seat base (18) form block springs (38, 42) which prestress the seating piece (28) at rest and enable the load-carrying seat to tilt with restoring force dependent on the weight of the user.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to an item of seating furniture (2), in particular an office chair, with a substantially curved supporting shell (14) which has two raised, curved, flexible curved arms (24) and a rigid central piece (16) arranged between said curved arms. Furthermore, the item of seating furniture (2) comprises a covering (30) which is clamped in the manner of a secant between the curved arms (24) of the supporting shell (14), wherein, when the covering (30) is loaded, at least one curved arm (24) is at least partially increasingly raised and/or is at least partially curved in the direction of the central piece (16).
Abstract:
The present invention is applicable to a chair having one backrest having one single backrest instead of duo back type backrest having two backrests aligned side by side in the horizontal direction. An object of the present invention is to provide the back support for an ergonomic chair, which can minimize the movement of a user's back in the horizontal direction when the one back type backrest is pushed back and rotate the backrest in the horizontal direction along with the horizontal movement of the user's back when the one back type backrest is in its upright position. To this end, the back support device for a chair of the present invention comprises: a one back type backrest for supporting both sides of a user's back all together; a backrest support for supporting the backrest; a fixing unit disposed between an upper part of the backrest and the backrest support, for fixing the upper part of the backrest to the backrest support; and an elastic unit disposed between a lower part of the backrest and the backrest support, for providing the lower part of the backrest with an elastic force to be movable in the horizontal direction relative to the backrest support when an external force is applied to the backrest.
Abstract:
A reclining chair system (10) with a standard assembly (40) supporting seat and backrest assemblies (30 and 20), which are pivotally mounted to each other and capable of providing a rocker effect to a user. A strut assembly (80) provides substantially a bounce free shock absorbing function by using two coaxially disposed compressible and resilient members (82 and 84) that are compressed sequentially. A headed shaft (86) with a step (85) limits the compression of the first member (82). The arrangement permits a volumetrically efficient operation while preventing excessive fatigue of the members (82 and 84). An adjustment mechanism (70) permits a user to readily set the relative angular position of backrest (20) and seat (30) with respect to the standard (40) (and consequently the horizontal plane) depending on the location of the chair system (10).
Abstract:
A seating furniture (1) including a frame (5, 6, 7); at least one support member (2, 3) adapted to provide support to a user in use; recline mechanism (4) connecting the support member (2, 3) to the frame (5, 6, 7), the recline mechanism (4) including; a housing positioned on one of either the support member (2, 3) or the frame (5, 6, 7) and an extending portion (11) of the frame (5, 6, 7) and an extending portion (11) of the frame (5, 6, 7) positioned on the other of either the support member (2, 3) or the frame (5, 6, 7) said housing receiving the extending portion (11) within a cavity (10) bounded by a cavity wall; and biasing means (12) located inside the cavity (10) between at least a portion of the cavity wall and the extending portion (11), wherein tilting movement of the support member (2, 3) causes a rotation between the cavity (10) and the extending portion (11) thereby engaging the extending portion with the biasing means (12), causing said biasing means (12) to generate a restorative reaction biasing force against the rotation.
