摘要： A locking mechanism assembly (100A) can include a locking member (10A) that can move between a retracted position and a deployed position. A first spring (30A) is coupled to a proximal portion of the locking member and exerts a force on the locking member in the proximal direction toward the retracted position. A second spring (40A) is coupled to the locking member and exerts a force on the locking member in a distal direction toward the deployed position, opposite to the direction of force exerted by the first spring. One of the first and second springs includes a shape memory material that moves to a pre-deformed state when exposed to heat, thereby increasing in tension such that the force it exerts on the locking member exceeds the force exerted on the locking member by the other of the first and second springs, causing the locking member to move to the retracted or deployed position.

摘要： A tableware vessel is provided that significantly improves the time efficiency of eating cookies and milk when the user desires the cookies to be thoroughly soaked in the milk. The vessel is elongated to permit simultaneous side -by-side soaking of multiple cookies. A uniquely configured sloped floor allows the volume of milk to be limited to the quantity desired by the user. The sloped floor guides the cookies from one end of the vessel to the other as they soak. The user can then remove each thoroughly soaked cookie, in sequence, from the scooping end of the vessel, where the floor is lowest.

摘要： A control system for controlling an operation of a hydroelectric turbine. The control system comprises a converter system to convert AC power, supplied by a generator connected to the turbine, and having a voltage and frequency that is a function of a rotational speed of the turbine, to AC power having a voltage and frequency of a transmission system for transmitting the AC power to a receiving station. The system further comprises a control unit that is arranged to co-operate with the converter system to adjust the AC voltage supplied by the generator in response to a water flow speed through the turbine to thereby control rotation of the turbine. The converter system comprises a first-stage converter and a second-stage converter, with a DC link provided between the first and second-stage converters. The first-stage converter is arranged to convert the AC power supplied by the generator to DC power. The second-stage converter is arranged to convert the DC power to the AC Power for transmission to the receiving station and the second-stage converter is of a current- source inverter type.
