Abstract: Disclosed is a vessel (1) comprising a container (10) and a lid (20). The container (10) extends from an open end (11) to a base (12) and comprises a cavity (13) for holding a liquid. The lid (20) closes the open end (11) of the container (10) and comprises: a body portion (21) comprising an annular lip (21a) surrounding a socket (35); and a plug section (23) engageable in the socket (35) to form a water-tight seal therewith. The annular lip (21a) comprises one or more drinking outlets (21b). A sheath (30) is attached to the body portion (21) of the lid and comprises a hollow body (31) extending from the socket (35) into the cavity (13) of the container, wherein the hollow body (31) comprises at least one aperture (32). A vial (40) is attachable to the plug section (23) of the lid, wherein with the plug section engaged in the socket (35), the vial (40) extends from the plug section within the hollow body (31) of the sheath and comprises a vial body (41) having at least one solid section (42) and at least one filter section (43). One or both of the body portion (21) and plug section (23) of the lid are moveable relative to each other between: a closed position wherein the solid section (42) of the vial body covers the aperture (32) in the hollow body (31); and an open position wherein the filter section (43) of the vial body is aligned with the aperture (32) in the hollow body (31).

Abstract: An apparatus for making coffee or other beverages comprises an upper tubular portion (11) and a lower tubular portion (12) telescopically connected, the lower portion (12) being perforate and the upper portion (11) being imperforate. The lower end of the lower tubular portion (12) is closed by a perforate end wall (18), whilst the upper end of the upper portion (11) is open. The lower end of the upper portion comprises a hook (13) for engaging a cup or mug (10) in which the beverage is to be produced. In use, the coffee grinds etc are placed into the apparatus and hot water is poured onto the coffee grinds through the upper portion (11) such that the grinds held in the lower portion (12) become saturated with water and create a head of water which extends up the tubular body. The derived coffee passes through the perforate section into the cup or mug (10).
