Abstract:
Cleaning articles including a heat engine incorporated therein. The cleaning article may include a substrate (e.g., a non-woven wipe) including one or more layers. The heat engine may be in the wipe or pad, and includes a reactive metal oxide which upon contact with water, reacts to produce heat. The cleaning article may thus produce water vapor and/or steam upon activation of the heat engine. A venting structure may be provided adjacent to or surrounding the heat engine that includes an impermeable material (e.g., impermeable to water and/or air or other gas), which includes one or more vents through the impermeable material. The venting structure directs water vapor and/or steam to a desired face of the cleaning article, away from the user. A heat barrier layer may insulate a user's hand from the generated heat, and/or a handle may be attachable to the pad.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a surface cleaning apparatus including a cleaning head having: a body to sit adjacent a first surface to be cleaned; and a head formation releasably connectable to a connection portion of the body; wherein in a first configuration the head formation is connected to the body such that the head formation sits adjacent the first surface or a second surface to be cleaned, and the cleaning head defines a first footprint, and in a second configuration the head formation is detached from the body and the cleaning head defines a second footprint.
Abstract:
A steam cleaner comprising a cleaning head; means for supplying steam to the cleaning head to be emitted thereby; means for supplying a cleaning agent to the cleaning head to be emitted thereby; and control means for controlling the emission of steam and cleaning agent by the cleaning head; wherein the control means is operable to cause or permit the emission of cleaning agent by the cleaning head while the emission of steam from the cleaning head is at least substantially prevented.
Abstract:
The invention relates generally to an improved mop having A support arm having a handle, a mop head that is pivotally attached to said support arm, a pair of rollers disposed in said mop head, a cleaning pad rotatably carried by said rollers so that a first roller carries said cleaning pad and a second roller draws sections of said cleaning pad across a cleaning area defined by said mop head, a spray nozzle carried by said mop head that is fluidly connected to a cleaning solution container for allowing the user to select and spray a cleaning solution on the surface being cleaned, and an ultra violet light source disposed on said mop head for disinfecting said cleaning pad.
Abstract:
A cleaning system. The system has a steam mop, pad, and a cleaning solution. This combination provides synergistic cleaning benefits over prior art systems using steam alone and over prior art systems using cleaning solutions alone. The cleaning benefits include both the capability to clean larger areas and clean additional types of stains. The cleaning system may be used to clean hard surfaces, such as a floor.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a base assembly for a floor cleaner configured to clean a floor through linear reciprocation movement of two rag attachment pads through which the rag attachment pads come close to and go away from each other. More particularly, the present invention relates to a base assembly for a floor cleaner capable of simultaneously conducting cleaning and sterilization of a floor by injecting steam onto the rag attachment pads while the rag attachment pads are being reciprocally moved.
Abstract:
A multi-functional cleaning system usable as both a vacuum cleaner and a steam cleaner includes (a) a body having a motor assembly for generating suction and a dust collector for collecting foreign matters, (b) a first cleaning head, such as a vacuum nozzle, detachably coupleable to the body and having an inlet for directing the foreign matters into the dust collector, and (c) a second cleaning head, such as a steam cleaning head, detachably coupleable to the body and having an outlet for directing steam onto a surface. Attaching the body to the first cleaning head forms a vacuum cleaner configuration while attaching the body to the second cleaning head forms a steam cleaner configuration. Electrical wiring and connectors enable operation of the blower motor only in the vacuum cleaner configuration, and include protection against water ingress that can cause malfunctioning or create a safety hazard.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A steam frame for a steam appliance has a body, a passageway in the body for passage of a fluid medium, and a member such as an unbalanced rotatable turbine in fluid communication with the passageway, where the member is capable of being engaged by the fluid medium to produce vibrations in the body for enhanced cleaning performance. A steam attachment includes a body, a pad covering at least a portion of the body, and a heating element coupled to the body. The heating element is configured to increase the temperature of the pad for enhanced cleaning performance. The heating element and vibration-producing member may be used separately or together.
Abstract:
A steam frame for a steam appliance such as a steam mop has a central body and fingers extending outwardly in a longitudinal-lateral plane. Each finger is capable of flexing in the longitudinal-lateral plane such that upon physical contact with an external object, the fingers substantially conform to the shape of the external object to facilitate cleaning of the floor about such external object. An adapter for a steam frame of a steam appliance includes a housing and pivot joint assembly. A distributor coupled to the housing has an inlet for receiving steam from a steam conduit and outlets for distributing steam into the steam frame.
