The present application relates to a nozzle for a vacuum cleaner. The nozzle comprises a body (2) and a base (3). The base (3) has a longitudinal axis, and at least two cleaning sides (17, 18) configured to act on a surface in respective cleaning conditions. The base (3) is rotatable around a rotational axis (A-A) that is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the base to move the base (3) between the respective cleaning conditions.

A vacuum cleaner comprises a primary support section that provides a modular platform for connecting different vacuum cleaner assemblies, such as different base assemblies, handle assemblies, and dirt separation assemblies. The primary support section comprises a motor and filter casing that houses a motor/fan assemble, a pre-motor filter assembly, and a post-motor filter assembly. The casing is formed in two parts that having integrally formed chambers for the motor/fan assembly, pre-motor filter assembly, and post-motor filter assembly and integrally formed ducts for fluid communication between the chambers. Several accessory tools, including a multi-purpose upholstery tool having a removable bristle block with different types of agitators are disclosed. The bristle block can selectively be used with the upholstery tool and can be orientated so that a desired agitator is in position to engage a surface to be cleaned.

The handle has first and second valves to selectively receive suction airflow from a main suction inlet, a first edge cleaning inlet, and an accessory hose. The first valve is operable to connect a dirt separator to either a main floor cleaning inlet or an auxiliary cleaning inlet. The second valve is operable to selectively connect the auxiliary cleaning inlet to the edge cleaning inlet. The accessory hose is mountable to an accessory hose mount on the handle. When mounted, the accessory hose contacts a second actuator for the second valve to hold the second valve in an edge cleaning position.

A nozzle (1) for a vacuum cleaner (100) is provided. The nozzle comprises a suction plate (7) having a suction opening for the purpose of taking in dust, a rigid intermediate part (6), a rigid outlet part (5),and at least one wheel (11) coupled to the intermediate part and/or the outlet part. An air duct (10) extends through the suction plate, the intermediate part and the outlet part. The outlet part is coupled to the intermediate part by a first hinged connection (8), and the intermediate part is coupled to the suction plate by a second hinged connection (9). Further, the first hinged connection is arranged such that its pivot axis (15) extends through the air duct. Further, a rotational axis of the wheel coincides with the pivot axis of the first hinged connection. With the present nozzle,interruptions in the cleaning resulting from elevation of the nozzle are reduced, whereby the cleaning performance is improved.
