Abstract:
A dental floss article is provided comprising a fiber having a predetermined length and defined by at least one substantially rigid portion and at least one flexible portion.
Abstract:
A length of dental floss having a series of spaced members of different sizes along the length. In the preferred embodiment, the size of the spaced members increase by regular increments from one end.
Abstract:
By the invention a dental interproximal cleaning device is provided including a handle and a holder, the handle having a proximal end and a distal end, the holder having a base joined to the distal end and a bifurcation forming two branches and a cleaning element extending between the branches of the bifurcation. The cleaning element has a thread element and a brush element, the thread element having a length corresponding at least to the transversal dimension of a tooth or to the transversal dimension of a contact surface between said tooth and an adjacent tooth, and the brush element having a length at least corresponding to one half of the length of the thread element.
Abstract:
Unique dental floss article comprising islands attached to the underlying surface of dental floss for dislodging plaque and oral debris during use. These unique structures exhibit superior retention of the drag resistance during flossing.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A flavored interproximal dental cleaning article (2) having an open, porous brush portion (6) with matrix particles comprising flavor particles encapsulated in a water-soluble matrix bound to the surfaces of the brush portion by a water-insoluble, matrix particle encapsulating hard, flexible polymeric film which is preferably a urethane polymer. The brush portion can integrally be connected to a threader portion (4) and/or a floss portion (8), and the threader portion (4) and the brush portion (6) can be further stiffened by a second outer polymeric hard flexible film coating which can be free of flavor particles. The cleaning article (2) is made by impregnating an open, porous brush portion (6) of an interproximal dental cleaning article (2) with a coating solution comprising a coating material dissolved in a volatile solvent. The coating solution has dispersed therein matrix particles comprising flavor particles encapsulated in a water-soluble matrix, the matrix particles being substantially insoluble in the volatile solvent.
Abstract:
A dental flosser (2) comprising a tensioning structure (8, 10, 12) for holding a section of a dental floss for flossing. The dental floss (14) is of continuous length and has on said length a plurality of spaced nodes (30) defining a plurality of sections. The tensioning structure is arranged to apply a tensioning action to a pair of nodes on said length to tension the section (14) defined by the pair. The tensioning structure is so arranged so that the section is replaceable with another one of the sections (14b). A method of operating a dental flosser comprises a) operating the dental flosser to at least partially remove a tensioning action acting on each of the pairs of nodes of the section to tension the section, b) removing the section from the position and locating the other section in the position, and c) applying a tensioning action to the pair of nodes defining the other section.
