Abstract: An intervertebral implant comprising a body formed as an open truss structure, the body having a generally annular shape with a superior surface, an inferior surface, and a perimeter surface extending around an outer periphery of the body. The body has a central portion and a peripheral portion, the peripheral portion extending inward from the perimeter surface toward the central portion. The peripheral portion includes a first set of trusses having a first density of trusses, and the central portion includes a second set of trusses having a second density of trusses. The first density of trusses in the peripheral portion is greater than the second density of trusses in the central portion. The first set of trusses includes a first strut and a first node, and the second set of trusses includes a second strut, wherein the first node connects the first strut with the second strut.

Abstract: A stand-alone expandable interbody spinal fusion device including a superior component, an inferior component, an expansion mechanism arranged to displace the superior component in a first direction relative to the inferior component, and a self-piercing screw mechanism arranged within the superior component or inferior component. When torque is applied to the expansion mechanism, torque is transferred 90 degrees thereby displacing a threaded rod or toothed shaft in a first direction thereby displacing the superior component in a first direction relative to the inferior component. When torque is applied to the self-piercing screw mechanism, torque is transferred 90 degrees thereby displacing a self-piercing screw body in a first direction to engage an anchor layer and the bone material of vertebrae thereby holding the interbody spinal fusion device it in place within a disc space.

Abstract: A corpectomy implant comprises a height-adjustable (expandable) cage and plate. The plate is mounted to the cage once height of the cage has been set. The cage has a first component and a second component that is movable with respect to the first component in order to increase height of the cage. The first and second components have cooperating structure that provides discreet cage height increments. The first component has a superior end configured to grip a superior vertebral body, while the second component has an inferior end configured to grip an inferior vertebral body, the superior end attached to the superior end of the plate, and the inferior end attached to the inferior end of the plate. The plate has holes for anterior fixation of the plate to superior and inferior vertebral bodies. Plates of incremental sizes accommodate differing heights of the cage.

Abstract: A pivoting wedge expandable spinal implant. An upper portion and a lower portion are pivotally connected together. The implant, in a collapsed position, is inserted into a disc space. A driving screw engages and applies a force to a pushing portion, driving the pushing portion toward the implant's distal end. The pushing portion engages and drives a wedge toward the implant's distal end. The wedge pivots upward against an inner surface of the lower portion. The wedge continues to pivot along an inner surface of the upper portion, translating the force to the upper portion, pivoting and expanding the upper portion to an expanded position.
