Abstract:
The present invention provides intravaginal drug delivery devices, such as intravaginal rings, comprising active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) having terminal alkene, alkyne or carbonyl functionalities. The devices of the invention exhibit increased recovery of the active pharmaceutical ingredient from platinum-catalyzed silicone polymers due to the optimization of drug particle size and cure conditions. The present invention also provides methods of preventing unintended pregnancy in a female human, methods of preventing unintended pregnancy in a female human and HIV infection in a female human, and methods of preparing intravaginal drug delivery devices.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a loading, inserting and releasing means (a loading means) for T-shaped intrauterine device (IUD) into uterus. The loading means comprises a shaft member having a loader, an inserter tube, an IUD and a plunger. The loading means includes a platform configured at a proximal end of the loader for holding the IUD in an open position, and an elongated member extending from the platform. The elongated member includes a slot running therethrough aligned to the opening of the loader. Further, the loading means includes a plunger within an inserter tube capable of running through a slot provided with markings thereon. The inserter tube is provided with a knob for pushing the inserter tube along with plunger in forward and backward direction for inserting and releasing the T-shaped IUD into the uterus.
Abstract:
The present disclosure advantageously provides a female contraceptive device, methods of using the contraceptive device, and methods of making the contraceptive device.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for delivering a contraceptive device to an ovarian pathway. The contraceptive device is within an enclosure in a first position. In a second position, the contraceptive device is positioned at the ovarian pathway, by actuating a first actuator. The contraceptive device is then expanded and released from the delivery system by actuating a second actuator.
Abstract:
A system and method of occluding a reproductive body lumen (34) to prevent the passage of reproductive cells through body lumen is disclosed. The system can include a catheter delivery system (10) having a handle device (18), a catheter (10) operatively coupled with the handle device (20), and an occluding device adapted for deployment within the body lumen. The handle device can include a damper device adapted to reduce the vibration on the handle device from deployment of the occluding device from the catheter. Further, the handle device can include an indexing member operatively coupled with the catheter to provide indexing of the catheter.
Abstract:
A vaginal device for delivering therapeutical and/or health-promoting agents. The vaginal device partly or completely coated by, covered by or combined with a coating or covering comprising a film, foam, strip, cap, cup or particles. The coating of the device comprises -a mucoadhesive composition comprising a therapeutical and/or health-promoting agent.
Abstract:
Contraceptive methods, systems and devices generally improve the ease, speed, and reliability with which a contraceptive device (12) can be deployed transcervically into an ostium of a fallopian tube. The contraceptive device (12) may remain in a small profile configuration while a sheath (114) is withdrawn proximally and is thereafter expanded to a large profile configuration engaging the surrounding tissues, by manipulating one or more actuators of a proximal handle (30) with a single hand. This leaves the other hand free to manipulate a hysteroscope, minimizing the number of health care professional required to deploy the contraceptive device.
Abstract:
In a process for rendering women reversibly infertile by quasi-sterilization, each ovary (3) is screened from the fringed (5) funnel-shaped end (4) of the Fallopian tube by implantation of a filter (6) of pore size between 0,2 and 110 mum which prevents a ripe egg from entering the Fallopian tube (2) after its release and ejection from the follicle. Various executions of the filter (6) are described and illustrated.
Abstract:
The present invention is related to a vaginal drug delivery device and to a vaginal diagnostic device that comprises a first and second rigid member, wherein the first and/or second rigid member comprises a reservoir holding a medicament to be delivered, an opening, and a pump for pumping said medicament out of said opening, and/or wherein the first rigid member and/or second rigid member comprises a diagnostic device for performing an intravaginal diagnosis or measurement therefor. The device further comprises a first flexible member and flexible part, wherein at least one of the first flexible member and the flexible part is at least partially elastic having an elasticity such that the device can be squeezed from an extended shape to a collapsed shape. The device is pre-biased to assume the extended shape when little to no external force is being applied thereto. Furthermore, the device assumes a shape substantially corresponding to the extended shape when the device is inserted with the squeezed rigid member first, so that these naturally unfold in the formix posterior vaginae.
