Abstract:
A vaginal device for delivering therapeutical and/or health-promoting agents. The vaginal device partly or completely coated by, covered by or combined with a coating or covering comprising a film, foam, strip, cap, cup or particles. The coating of the device comprises -a mucoadhesive composition comprising a therapeutical and/or health-promoting agent.
Abstract:
Devices, methods, and improved formulation for transmucosal vaginal delivery of bisphosphonates. A targeted site delivery of bisphosphonates to the systemic circulation using a vaginal device comprising an improved bisphosphonate formulation for transmucosal delivery. A method for treatment of osteoporosis and related bone and skeleton diseases, for prevention of bone breakdown and loss of bone mass and strength by intravaginal administration of bisphosphonates to the vagina and transmucosal delivery of bisphosphonates to the general circulation.
Abstract:
A vaginal or buccal delivery of therapeutic agents having a substrate affinity for metabolic cytochrome P-450 enzymes and membrane efflux transporter systems. A method for augmentation of systemic exposure to the therapeutic agents having a substrate affinity for cytochrome P-450 enzymes and membrane efflux transporter systems, by delivering said agents to the systemic circulation through vaginal or buccal mucosa.
Abstract:
Polymer foams and films for delivery of therapeutic agents to and through nasal, oral or vaginal mucosa and cornified or non-cornified epithelium of labia and scrotum. Polymer foams or absorbable or non-absorbable films containing a therapeutic agent incorporated therein wherein said agent is released from said foams or films upon placement of said foam or film on the surface epithelium of nasal, oral, or vaginal labia or scrotum. The foam or the film has a controllable rate of gelling, swelling and degradation and is preformed into a device or is applied as a coating to a surface of a more complex drug delivery system.
Abstract:
A vaginal device for delivery of an anti-migraine or anti-nausea drug to the uterus and/or to the general circulation through vaginal mucosa. The device is at least partially coated with one or several layers of fluid impermeable material forming a cap, film, foam, foil or strip incorporated with mucoadhesive composition comprising the anti-migraine or anti-nausea drug.

Abstract:
Devices, methods, and compositions for cancer therapy by administration of chemotherapeutic agents and/or inhibitors of membrane efflux systems to the vagina for topical and systemic tumor targets.
