Abstract:
A bedrail clamp with a jaw member positionable by an actuating member, the actuating member being configured to move to move the jaw member away from the bedrail and toward the bedrail to move the jaw member into contact with the bedrail to secure the bedrail against the clamp housing. Either the actuating member or the jaw member features an inclined surface that includes a first portion with a first angle and a second portion with a second angle. Methods of operating a bedrail clamp.
Abstract:
An apparatus (18) for mounting surgical rails (40, 42) to a litter (10) having a pair of parallel poles (12) includes a pair of longitudinal members (20, 22) fixed to outboard sides of respective ones of the pair of poles (12). A pair of surgical rails (40, 42) is fixed to outboard surfaces of respective ones of the pair of longitudinal members (20, 22). Clamps (24, 26, 28, 30) at each end of each longitudinal member (20, 22) fix the longitudinal members (20, 22) to the pair of poles (12). A pair of cross bars (36, 38) extend between and are fixed to opposing clamps (24, 26, 28, 30) at each end of each longitudinal member (20, 22).
Abstract:
A surgeon support device is disclosed for the purpose of relieving fatigue and back pain during operations. A preferred embodiment is the attachment of the support device to the operating table to minimize space requirements, and ensure maximum maneuverability without interfering with the freedom of the surgeon's arms and hands.
Abstract:
A limb positioning system (10) includes a clamp assembly (100), a pylon and bar assembly (200), a sled assembly (300), and a limb positioning assembly (400). The clamp assembly attaches to a rail (30) of a table and accepts a pylon (220) connected to a bar (240). The pylon has a plurality of pylon bars (222a, 222b) that are secured by the clamp assembly. A base bar (240) extends from the pylon, and is attachable to an extension bar (260) to provide a longer track for the sled assembly. The sled assembly is biased to be locked with respect to the base bar. The limb holding assembly includes a boot (402) coupled to the sled via a connector (460) near the heel. The connector is tapered and insertable into a correspondingly tapered section of a ball (380) that sits within the sled assembly, the ball being capable of polyaxial motion.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a side arm extension for a patient transport device comprise a patient transport device engagement member configured to engage a patient transport device frame or a support frame attached to the patient transport device frame, the side arm extension further comprising a rotatable and pivotable arm rest, and a side arm motion base connecting the arm rest to the patient transport device engagement member. The side arm motion base comprises, a rotational mechanism configured to rotate the arm rest, and a swing mechanism configured to pivot outwardly from the arm rest perpendicular to a perimeter of the patient transport device frame or patient transport device support frame.
Abstract:
An adjustable head rest assembly for adjusting a position of a patient's head for a medical procedure includes a supporting member that supports the patient. A handle assembly is carried by the support member. The handle assembly includes an opening having at least two sides, a first handle portion located at a first side of the opening and a second handle portion located at a second side of the opening. An unlock assembly is connected to the handle assembly such that actuation of either one of the first handle portion and the second handle portion disengages the unlock assembly to move the supporting member.
Abstract:
