An apparatus (600) and system are disclosed for manipulating soft tissue. The apparatus (600) includes a support member (602) having a support surface (606) disposed between a first end (608) of the support member (602) and a second end (610) of the support member (602). The support member (602) is elongated in a lengthwise direction (612) between the first end (608) and the second end (610). The apparatus (600) also includes a raised member (604) having an outer surface (614) disposed opposite an inner surface (616). The inner surface (616) is supportable by the support surface (606) of the support member (602). The outer surface (614) of the raised member (604) is configured to rotate along at least a portion of a user's body in response to movement of the raised member (604) along the user's body. The raised member (604) is repositionable along the support surface (606).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a skin stimulator, in which a disk of a drum is insert injection molded to a metal disk having an outer surface with a plurality of needles in such a manner that reinforcing resin materials are buried in the metal disk, and the disks are stacked into a layer and tightly fixed to a retainer, thus simplifying manufacturing processes and maximizing productivity and economic advantages. The skin stimulator of the present invention is effective in operation, and protects the drum from foreign substances or dust. The skin stimulator of the present invention also protects the skin from excessive damage caused by the insertion of needles into the skin of the user, and prevents the breakage of needles to ensure stable use of the skin stimulator over a long period of time. Each of the needles of the skin stimulator of the present invention does not have a circular cross-section but rather a cross-section with six or more sides to minimize the contact area between the needles and the skin of the user and the pain caused by the insertion of the needles into the skin of the user.

A massage device that includes a hollow body that can be filled with a filler material and sealed is described. The hollow body is made of a material allowing elastic deformations of walls of the hollow body under applied pressure when the body is pressed against a human's back. The hollow body comprises a first pair of projecting portions connected by a central portion, a second pair of projecting portions connected to the projecting portions through connecting portions, and a neck portion connected to the projecting portions. The projecting portions are spaced apart from each other by a distance substantially equal to the distance separating the first line of the bladder meridian located on the left side of a human body and the first line of the bladder meridian located on the right side of the human body. Each projecting portion of the second pair extends axially outwardly from a respective one of the first pair of projecting portions and is spaced by a distance substantially equal to the distance separating the second line of the bladder meridian located on the left side of the human's back and the second line of the bladder meridian located on the right side of a human's back.

A device and related method of use are disclosed which employ electrically-conductive wheels to massage and contact the skin to deliver electrical current. The present invention has both cosmetic and drug applications. In a cosmetic application, the rolling action of the wheels provides a light pressure skin massage that is important to reduce the appearance of skin surface irregularities. In a drug application, the device may be used to deliver ingredients of a conductive gel to or into the skin.

The invention relates to a piece of furniture (1) with a built-in massage unit (2), comprising a massage head (3) which can be moved along the massage unit (2) and which has at least one massage body (4). Said massage body makes turning or kneading movements in a massage area. The massage head (3) can be lowered at least partially into the massage area by means of a force applied to the massage body (4), perpendicularly to said massage area. As a result, the inventive furniture is easier to produce and is capable of producing a massage force which is both pleasant for the user and adapted to his/her needs.

The massage head (3) is characterized by its compact design and its possible ways of providing an effective massage. A foot massager (10) simulates hand therapeutic and Reflexology massage, allowing both of a human's feet to be automatically massaged at the same time, in about a third of the time that a manual massage would require. The massager includes a first powered section (11) comprising horizontally rotatable hard rollers (26) powered for rotation about a vertical axis (28) for massaging the balls of the feet; a second powered section (12) comprising a plurality of arcuately spaced horizontal shafts (38) mounting hard rollers for rotation and a common shaft powered about a common horizontal axis (41), for massaging arches; and a third section (13) for massaging the heels, including along the sides of the heels. The third section includes flexible rollers (52, 53) mounted on generally vertically extending elements (50, 51) spring biased against the sides of the heel as they are reciprocated in the direction of elongation of the foot. The ball massaging elements are rotated at a speed of between about 25-55 rpm, the arch massaging elements are rotated at a speed of between 10-30 rpm, and the heel massaging elements are reciprocated at a speed of between about 10-30 cycles per minute.

A myofascial release device includes a rigid inner core having a first density surrounded by an outer layer having a second density. The second density may be less than the first density to promote myofascial release. The rigid inner core may be a hollow aluminum core and end caps may be placed on either end of the myofascial release device. The overall diameter of the myofascial release device may be between 1.5 and 3 inches, and preferably 2 inches. The inner core may be cooled during manufacturing such that, when the inner core returns to room temperature, the diameter of the inner core is greater than or equal to the inner diameter of the outer layer.
