Abstract:
A head for a ball striking device includes a face having a striking surface and a rear side located behind the face, a rear member connected to the rear side of the face member and having a front surface confronting the rear side of the face member, and a resilient material separating the rear member from the face member, such that the resilient member engages the rear member and the face member and is configured to transfer momentum between the face member and the rear member. The face member has projections extending rearwardly from the rear side of the face member proximate the heel and toe sides of the head. The rear member has receivers in the front surface on the heel and toe sides of the head, where the projections are received in the corresponding receivers.
Abstract:
A training apparatus is provided for sports involving hitting an object. The training apparatus has a hitting sports club and a visual hitting aid attached to the club at a preferred location for hitting the object, for example, a ball or puck. The training apparatus is useful in assisting a user in visualizing the proper swing and contact zone for hitting or striking an object in a preferred ball or puck target contact zone.
Abstract:
A sporting article having moveable weight members of various weight values that may be positioned along a guide m various configurations, for example, traπsversally, longitudinally and/or diagonally, at various positions and angles on the sporting article so that the user may properly adjust the weight distribution of the sporting article to perform a desired shot or improve maneuverability.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A weighting device (20) for attachment to a shaft (14) of a golf club (10). The weighting device (20) includes a body having a plurality of spaced-apart helical turns (22a) and a through opening extending between the proximal and distal ends of the body (21). The weighting device (20) is attached to the shaft (14) of a club (10) by inserting the shaft (14) within a channel located between the helical turns (22a) and rotating the body of the weighting device until the shaft of the golf club (10) is positioned within the through opening.
Abstract:
A training weight for a sport stick is provided. The sport stick includes a housing having a sidewall, a proximal end wall and a distal end wall. The sidewall and proximal end wall include an opening and slot which are sized to accept a sport stick's handle and knob. Preferably, the training weight includes a cup which is biased by a spring to force the sport stick's knob to engage and lock to the training weight's proximal end wall. The training weight may include a cam mechanism to permit the retraction and extension of the spring and cup.
Abstract:
Golf instructional aid to help players feel and understand proper swing path, improve technique, and provide a variety of other drills to improve performance, all accomplished with a single training aid.
Abstract:
A heated weight (130) adapted to receive an athletic instrument (80) is disclosed. The heated weight (130) has at least two apertures (60, 75) permitting an athletic instrument (80) to pass through the at least two apertures (60, 75) . The heated weight (130) includes rechargeable, microwaveable heat source (110) that warms an athletic instrument (80) through conventional heating processes such as convection and conduction. The heated weight (130) can be sized and shaped to accommodate a specific athletic instrument (80), and is particularly well suited for use with a baseball or Softball bat. Furthermore, the heated weight can be coupled with an athletic instrument (80) to aid in the exercise of an athlete's musculature.

Abstract:
A universal wrap-around weighted assembly (10) that is wrapped around sporting equipment such as golf clubs and hockey sticks (30), tennis rackets (32) and baseball bats (34). The purpose of the assembly is to add weight to the sporting equipment during the time the sportsman is taking practice swings. The assembly (10) is comprised of a flexible pocket (12) into which is inserted a ballast (14). Attached to the end of the pocket (12) is a flexible locking tab (16) having a lift tab (18) located on its outer end. The material used on the pocket (12) has an outer knitted loop surface (12) while the interfacing side of the locking tab (16) has a lock compatible woven hook surface (16). The use of the two lock compatible materials allows the sportsman to easily and tightly wrap the assembly (10) around the sporting equipment. The assembly will remain locked until the sportsman completes his practice swings and the assembly (10) is removed.
