본 발명의 일 실시례는, 내부에 수용된 물질에 원심력이 작용하도록 회전할 수 있는 회전챔버; 회전챔버의 회전에 따른 원심력에 의해 회전챔버 내부에 수용된 물질에서 분리된 소정의 성분이 저장되는 저장부; 및 저장부와 회전챔버 사이에 배열되며, 회전챔버의 회전에 따른 원심력에 의해 회전챔버 내부에 수용된 물질에서 분리된 소정의 성분이 저장부에 저장되기 위해 통과하는 필터를 구비하고, 저장부는 회전챔버의 회전에 따른 원심력에 의해 회전챔버 내부에 수용된 물질에서 분리되어 저장부에 저장된 소정의 성분이 저장부에서 회전챔버로 회귀하지 않게 하는 회귀방지부를 포함하는 원심분리기이다. 이에 의하여 분리하고자 하는 소정의 성분을 매우 용이하게 분리해 낼 수 있는 효과를 갖는다.

A centrifugal separator comprises a base (10), a substantially vertical spindle (14) upstanding from the base (10), a rotary vessel (13) mounted on the spindle (14), and a housing (15) which encloses the rotary vessel (13) and is connected to the base (10). A liquid supply duct (29) supplies liquid to be filtered to the rotary vessel (13). The rotary vessel (13) has an open top and comprises filter material extending to a weir (30) at its upper edge. The housing (15) includes a passageway (46) adjacent and communicating with the weir (30) so that in use centrifugal force generated by rotation of the vessel (13) causes waste material which does not pass through the filter material to progress upwardly over the inner surface of the vessel (13) and be expelled over the weir (30), thereafter discharged from the housing. The liquid to be filtered may be supplied to the bottom of the rotary vessel (13) via an axial bore (20) in the spindle (14) or it may be supplied to the open top of the rotary vessel (13). The separator may be self-powered by discharge of liquid via nozzles (22) from the axial bore (20).

A grinding and dewatering apparatus by centrifugation for highly selective differentiated food waste collection comprising, in a supporting structure (10), a hopper (11) for the introduction of the waste- products into a grinding chamber (12) and subsequently into a centrifuge (22) which comprises an inner body (23) and an outer body (24) with a finely perforated side wall coaxial to it, a deceleration chamber (26) of the filtered water, a motor (15) for driving the grinding means (21) and said centrifuge (22), wherein the motor (15) integrally activates both the grinding means (21) and the centrifuge (22) and is in a position overlying both (21, 22), and a discharge for the evacuation of the ground waste-products. Both the grinding means (21) and the inner and outer bodies (23, 24) of the centrifuge (22) are positioned in the deceleration chamber (26) and are arranged integrally with a rotating disc (18), and said discharge is a movable discharge (27), that can be selectively positioned below openings (29), situated in a flanged extension (25) arranged below for closing said centrifuge (22) for the evacuation of the ground waste-products into a collection basket (34). A doctor blade (38) is provided, which can be selectively moved in engagement with the finely perforated wall of the outer body (24) of the centrifuge (22) for the detachment of the centrifuged waste-products.

An improved centrifugal separator system and method for separating a solid portion from a liquid portion, of the type including a chute for introducing material into the separator; a screen rotated on a shaft for allowing a liquid portion of the material to flow through the screen but preventing solids from flowing through the screen; a space between the housing and the screen for allowing the solids to travel through the separator; a rotor portion, further comprising a plurality of blades radiating outward from a hub portion of the rotor to an outer ring portion of the rotor to define the traveling space for the solid material between the rotor blades; wherein each of the blades being circular in cross section along their length to minimize the impact on the solid material which makes contact with the rotating blades and do less damage to the solid material, resulting in better product and a reduction in the energy required to power the separator.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Waschen eines Feststoffkuchens (2, 21, 22) in einem Zentrifugalfeld einer Zentrifuge (1), welche Zentrifuge (1) eine um eine Drehachse (101) rotierbare Zentrifugentrommel (3) umfasst. In die Zentrifugentrommel (3) wird ein Gemisch (4) aus mindestens einem Feststoff (41) und einer eine Mutterflüssigkeit umfassende Flüssigphase (42) eingebracht, das Gemisch (4) unter einer Wirkung des Zentrifugalfeldes in die Flüssigphase (42) und den Feststoffkuchen (2, 21, 22) zumindest teilweise getrennt, und der Feststoffkuchen (2, 21, 22) zum Waschen mit einer Waschflüssigkeit (5) beaufschlagt. Erfindungsgemäss wird der Feststoffkuchen (2, 21, 22) für eine vorgegebene Pulsdauer pulsierend mit der Waschflüssigkeit (5) beaufschlagt. Darüber hinaus betrifft die Erfindung eine Zentrifuge mit einer Wascheinrichtung (7, 71, 72) zur Durchführung des Verfahrens.

A continuous centrifuge (10) has a basket (30) with upper and lower basket portions (43, 44) separated by an intermediate slip portion (45). The lower basket portion (43) has an included angle of 40-50°, to separate "green" molasses from the sugar crystals, while the upper basket portion (44) has an included angle of 50-60°, to separate washed molasses from the sugar crystals. The inner faces of the walls of the basket portions (43, 44) have radial drainage grooves (46), closed at their lower ends and open at their upper ends, to discharge the molasses.

A separator includes a housing (4), a basket (10) rotatable mounted in the housing and a movable weir member (42). The basket has an upstream end portion (10a), a downstream end portion (10b) and an intermediate tubular portion (10c) that includes or forms a screen deck. The weir member is movable between a first position where a portion of the weir member extends radially relative to the downstream open end portion and a second position spaced away from the first position. In this manner, the weir member forms a movable dam adjacent the downstream end portion of the basket.
