Abstract:
The invention concerns a device for piercing lockwire holes on nuts (1) and screw heads hexagonal in shape, comprising a bush-bearing part (3) having at least a slope (20) at 60 DEG relative to the horizontal against which is urged to press a surface (a) of the nut (1) to be pierced, a drill bushing (2) including on its shank a slope at 60 DEG mounted in the vertical axis of symmetry (Z) of the slope (20) of the bush-bearing part (3) and serving as guide to a sensitive perforating machine drill (6), a lower support (4) receiving a surface (c) of the nut (1), and, co-operating with said elements (2, 3, 4) a flange (5) comprising a notch at 120 DEG matching the surfaces (d, e) of the nut to be pierced. The position of the lockwire hole relative to the nut vertical axis of symmetry is adjusted by varying the height of the lower support (4).
Abstract:
Abstract:
A manufacturing jig (50) for drilling a hole (40) in a bolt (10), the hole (40) having a castellated nut (20) assembled on the bolt (10), wherein the jig (50) includes a housing locatable on the assembled nut and bolt and a drill bush (60) located and aligned to allow a generally diametrical hole (40) to be drilled in the bolt (10) to receive a split pin.
Abstract:
A fluted drill has a drill body (12) with a fluted drill cutting head (14) removably secured thereto. The cutting head has two drilling portions (18A, 18B) facing axially opposite directions. In axial view (A), the cutting head has at least four through openings. Each drilling portion includes a plurality of head flute portions (42) and a plurality of cutting head coupling portions (19).
Abstract:
A toolholder assembly (10) for releasably holding a toolholder (16) at a selected radial location within the toolholder assembly. The toolholder assembly includes a tool support member (12), an actuating bolt (20) and an actuating centering nut (75). Rotation of the actuating bolt (20) in a locking direction centers the actuating centering nut (75), actuating bolt and the toolholder with respect to the radial axis of a bore (14) within the tool support member.
